thanks for the info urs, much appreciated. the einstürzende neubauten soundbank sounds quite interesting, but i will have to check the sounds first. with michaels soundbank i'm absolutely sure that i will get it. the dance soundbank is not for me (can you hear the sigh of relief from my credit card?).
cheers and good luck for your work.

What a bunch of good news!Urs wrote:Yo.
I'm currently trying to catch up with a lot of things that were left behind. The most pressing thing is 64-bit support, which is pretty there for Windows, but not yet fully working on MacOS (my Cocoa View for Bazille still looks all garbled up... funnily disgusting...). I'll have that ready for betas in a few days. After that I guess I have headspace for the patch banks.
There will be 3 patch banks coming out, one of them needs a special website - it's merely a work of art by Alexander Hacke of Einstürzende Neubauten who releases an album-like patch bank for Zebra with accompanying picture and story material. The artwork for this bank is still in the works. The other two patchbanks are Michael's Tonemeister and a dance pack by Nick Moritz & Xenos that combines two banks in one.
Cheers,
Urs
1) 64 bit supports? yes, imho it comes first
2) Did you really said "Alexander Hacke of Einstürzende Neubauten"? Whoa!
3) I heard some buzz about an Uhbik compressor. Tell me that i wasn't dreaming (but i know, even if it's true i have to wait). And btw what about sidechain?
4) Last but not least, welcome back Urs, it's great to have you around here!

I was wondering what ever happened to that patch bank. It was mentioned before the 2.5 release was finished, and apparently needed the 2.5 features, but until now no more word of it. Your description of it now certainly has me intrigued.Urs wrote:There will be 3 patch banks coming out, one of them needs a special website - it's merely a work of art by Alexander Hacke of Einstürzende Neubauten who releases an album-like patch bank for Zebra with accompanying picture and story material.

That bank went a looong way. There's a story behind each patch, and that story had to fit into the patch info box. Once everything was finished Alex got into XY-Controls a bit more, so he went through each patch and reworked them. And then I went on vacation... and so on...blurk wrote:I was wondering what ever happened to that patch bank. I'm a bit curious myself. One can't really expect too many "playable" patches, but I think it's full of little gems. On top of that it's a lot of fun, and it has some astounding grooves.

I must be crazy but i did it... i made multisamples of all patches from the Tonemeister soundset. Its just multisamples pr. octave but apparently its enough for being kreative. I decided to keep reverb settings with the samples and other spatial creativities. Its now insta action with 120+ NNXT sample players lined up ready for use, no need to additional effects other than a little reverb on the whole mix. I use velocity to control volume on certain parts instead of turning volume up and down on mixer. Why ? dunno... just for fun
Here is a working snippet with some of those samples in action:
Its very late 70's progressive rock like.....not that the soundset only do that but i just felt like doing this genre.

Multisamples.....pheeeew gotta hate doing loop job. So far its 730 MB and will probably end around 800 MB in compressed form to roughly 400 MB.

Something for Xsynth 2 or a separate ReFill? Or was this just a labor of love for your own personal enjoyment?mkastrup wrote:Its now insta action with 120+ NNXT sample players lined up ready for use, no need to additional effects other than a little reverb on the whole mix. Either way, nice work. Building a sample library takes perseverance, creativity, and patience.

The follow up to XSynth Library is still a project i work on from time to time but many times i go cold because i absolutly hate the Reverb in Reason, its good for ambience and room but for synth pads and leads its simply to thin and narrow sounding. Also the damn delays cant do dotted sync. Anyways so making Tonemeister into a multi sampled project with added reverb and stereo placement was kind of a test and the test seem to deliver good enough quality for me. I'm also almost done doing a full sample set of Roland Juno 6 with emphasis on its chorus. The Juno is starting to be in real bad shape so i figured i better get it restored digitally and maybe in the future can make use of the samples in some smart way.bmrzycki wrote:Something for Xsynth 2 or a separate ReFill? Here is a little ultra soft cute tune with some of those samples:

Its a bit boring but the point is how soft and warm the sounds are.

Very nice! I think it's very difficult to find the right loop points because of the chorus!mkastrup wrote:The follow up to XSynth Library is still a project i work on from time to time but many times i go cold because i absolutly hate the Reverb in Reason, its good for ambience and room but for synth pads and leads its simply to thin and narrow sounding. The official Tonemeister Soundset video shows each patch in order. This video shows patches used as 80's arrangements:
Its made with samples of the Tonemeister Soundset and then imported into Reason NN-XT sample players.
So this is how those patches could be used if your into the 80's scene
What baffles me is that i'm only using 1 Reverb on the total mix and the compressor suite in Reason and it comes out pretty authentic
I sampled the patches with reverb and spatial effects on, was a daring move, but it works!

NoooK-Slash wrote:So does that means that the Zebra Tonemeister soundset is cancelled in favour of the ReFill.
I hope not!
Tonemeister for Zebra is still waiting in the pipeline.
