My god, €199 is an incredible offer!

Hey folks. I'm new to the V-machine, and I bought this one used. I also bought the bundle w/the OBX and Strings. I've got it installed on the internal HD and it runs/plays fine, but every so often it get the 1/2 second "digital zipper", like a buffer got bogged. These are configured to run on the V-machine, and I'm wondering what I'm missing and/or what to look for. Thanks all!

hi tonebox

You've probably forgot to replace the GUI-dlls on the stick with the non-GUI ones from "Replacement" before you've transfered it from the stick to the V-Machine; this is very important

More infos here:
http://www.sonicprojects.ch/vmbundle/vm ... ation.html

Using the standard GUI-dlls in the V-Machine can cause the issues you've described. That's why there are optimized dlls that have no GUI at all with minimal overhead for V-Machine internal use only. Those will perform rock solid.

So just again delete the plugins in the machine (Delete:Plugin->SonicProjects OP-X, SonicProjects Stringer), replace the GUI-dlls on the stick with the non-GUI ones from the "Replacement" folder as described in the manual and import again.

With the coming new release of the VFX software manual replacing won't be necessary anymore, but with the current version of VFX/VM Bundle it is. That's why it's extremely important to follow the installation manual.

Cheers, Peter

This is really an incredible deal. I contacted them and they cannot ship outside the EU. Am I figuring this correctly? 199 Euro = approx. $245 US.

Is there someone in the EU that is willing to buy this and ship it to me here in the US... with a little extra, of course, for your trouble.

How did I miss this!!!

If I could read Dutch I'd be all over it!

I have to jump in again here... can't believe that this thread is running for so long. I honestly admit I've lost track in the meantime, so I'm still interested in a HW VST host.

I really wonder when the V-Rack will become available. It looks so much more capable than the V-machine - also there has been a lot of change in the software since 2008.

One question I still have is how V-Machines will support VST's needing a dongle, like Arturia and some others. Is this possible or planned?

I also would appreciate digital DAW integration with the V-Rack - something like uniwire with receptors. As far as I remember the latest tradeshow comments I have seen state this isn't planned - or at least not for a first release... :(

Hey! lets get a desktop V-Machine with assignable knobs! Why wasn't that a part of the original product? it seems like a no-brainer to me. I'll buy one if they do, even if it was just one big encoder, I'd hate to click through the parameters one step at a time. That's part of why the DX7 was easier to program than the Korg Poly-61, because it had an analog slider to input data. To overlook such a feature seems ridiculous to me, even if the focus is on creating patches on a computer. Who wouldn't give for just 4 assignable knobs on this thing?

I mean picture it:
For instance you could get one on cutoff, one on filter env amount, one on amp decay and one on FM level, that would be awesome.

I think it's useless to suggest different v-machines when even the ones shown for long do not come out...

Just typing a couple of "no brainer" ideas is always simple - engineering, producing and marketing is not, especially if you need to sell more than one unit to cover all the cost involved.

You also seem not having had a look on SM Pro audios website as you would have seen the V-machine XL there which will have plenty of knobs...

And as a personal add I don't think one dial for synth programming will make any cookie today, sorry - that's a crutch at best.

Well I agree with you. Certainly the process from paper to product is a lot of work. They say this thing will "free your vsts" but no analog parameter control seems like a shackle to me. I had indeed seen the XL model, but it's a rack unit and will probably cost the same as a Receptor (so the market's covered pardner). A little healthy market competition never hurt a consumer though.

In my opinion the V-Machine should be used on stage together with a masterkeyboard. So the controlling and even preset-changes can be done via the masterkeyboard.

Maybe but the v-machines - especially the announced v-racks - can be valuable in a studio environment too and then some knobs could come in handy... you never can have too many knobs... :hihi:

Just contacted them about shipping to Ireland - if they do ship here, I'd be glad to help out!

I contacted them about shipping to Ireland too. Definitely worth a punt at that price...
