Battery Backup?

I have had more than one experience of someone turning off the stage power during setup or breakdown at a gig before I have had a chance to properly power down my receptor. I assume this is not a good thing for the receptor. Is there a good inexpensive battery backup that will also deal with less than ideal power situations we run into on the road such as generator-supplied power, boat power (yes we occasionally play on boats), old buildings with power that fluctuates, etc?
