Using a Tascam Fireone firewire interface with the latest ASIO driver. It's Cubase I don't trust. 10,000 settings, many of which overlap.
Far as I know the editor is not currently available.

Am I talking to a kid or did you test your YRG with the Chainer host that is NOT cubase(which I own), and I know for a fact has nothing to do with adding lag.Maruuk wrote:Using a Tascam Fireone firewire interface with the latest ASIO driver. Elantric posted the link for the version 0003 Control Panel a number of pages back.
If all this non-sense wasn't being posted, you might have seen it. I'm not going to find it for you.Maybe it's also at the YRG site, don't know,follow the thread.

" slide is portamento. Should be used with sounds that utilize portamento.
I covered that a few pages back.
If your getting a double attack. and it's the unit not the midi.
Then most likely the optical sensors (I'm guessing that's what they are using to read the string are over hieghtened or your strings are causing a slap back.
I don't even bother with asio anymore I prefer directX

"Chainer host which is not Cubase"--just sounds like a bunch of doubletalk to me. Am I talking to an arrogant tech snob?
Clicked on all the supposed links to the app--all dead. As detailed above, Inspired yanked them. Duh.
Let's drop the all the tech snob BS, eh? Let's just speak plain English and drop the ego surfing and try to be helpful to each other. There are a number of factors at play here as to why the unit performs poorly. Add to that the thread above is full of many directions and misdirections. Yes, sometime things have to be repeated and updated for posters here because things change all the the time, like Inspired yanking beta versions. You don't have to be a crybaby about it. Just update the info to help the poster.
If you can't be positive and helpful to fellow posters and non-abusive here, there are plenty of 11 year old flamers at HC who'd love to take you on.
Now let's get back to problem solving, not problem creating.

Mike spoketh;
When I pick a fretted note (tap and everything off) it sends a note on message then a note off message, while i'm holding that fret, I lightly touch any fret above it and it sends a note on message from THAT note.

Now for those of you who can't find their heads when they wake up in the morning.
Read up about 5 posts and you see my response to your previous post;
I watch the midi data on a free VST called MidiMonitor.If your getting a double attack. and it's the unit not the midi.

Dload this working freeware host.
The demo won't save or record audio...all else will work and work well.
I use it all the time and all my YRG use has been through Chainer.

I didn't notice your "moderator" status label. Must have missed it.annode wrote:No, tap isn't on...i'm not an idiot. haha
May I remind you guys, about this thread of mine "The You Rock Guitar" thread.
Ok, I hope your finished with your " Two of us want our own thread" posts.
I'd like to ge back to the YRG.
By the time others get home from work, my issue concerning the "writen-in" algo for hammer-ons will be 5 pages back...thanks.
In other words, it's not really your place to tell us what we can and cannot talk about here, especially given that it's been about YRG-related items the whole time.
Your attitude continues to be lame.

I am not able to recreate although my settings may be different then yours. It reads like there is an internal delay for note off even the external value is eing sent.
Reads like something you will have to address with Inspired Instruments.
Sorry

I have no doubt this must be a no-lag instrument since so many posters have it working fine with no latency. And Inspired seems to be releasing an updated controller app anytime now, so until then, my YRG will just gather dust in the corner.
If, and it's a giant if, the Fender-licensed Squire Strat actually outputs honest to cheezus midi, I'll be all over that. I seriously doubt Fender would ship an unplayable brick with their name on it. And they'll support it up the wazoo.
That said, with the new soon-to-be-released YRG midi app, this little toy will probably be gotten to work ok. Even if nuances like hammers are a little flakey. I'm mainly into this thing for piano/organ/strings/brass chords/parts anyways. I never expected to execute believable sweeping, flowing leads or melodies on it. That's way over its pay scale.

It's possible the low default string sensitivity when you strike a string is causing a sonic delay which appears to act like lag in your system.
After you set your sensitivity to setting #9 and click on 'set' then X out of the app...you won't know for sure.
Those default hammer-ons will become a selectable feature. That's what i'm after.
