I can say this with certainty...if it turns out that a neck has been constructed which not only frets metal stringed notes, but also reads them directly into a midi-processor package as sensor data...and does this flawlessly...it may fortell the beginning of professional guitars coming with midi output for no more then $100 on-top of the cost of the guitar.zerocrossing wrote:I'm not surprised. My spidy-sense tingled when I watched those demos. A little voice told me, "cheap toy! BEWARE!" Then again, it's priced like a cheap toy. Does anyone think that companies like Roland, Eigenlabs and Starr are just gouging customers? No, it's hard to make a precision instrument of any kind. They don't roll off a factory line ready to be sold for less than $200.Maruuk wrote:Overall it has a very finicky and tentative feel to the playing as if you're always on the verge of a false trigger (which happens).
Midi processor packages are not expensive at all now.
