Revolver and 38 special guns, B-52 and Scorpion planes and Minutemen from the War of Independence.

I was thinking of Scorpion tanks (child of the 70s, Action Man and all that... :)) and Minutemen missiles but that's where the name came from I guess so hardly wrong.

OK then, my turn.

What's this:

1) Glad to see this thread is still going.

2) The answer to the last question is obviously 'Uzi Clone Futon Mobile Dancing'. Oh, wait. No it's not.

3) Bump.

Yep, you got it - the 4th one was a little difficult to find something, that's the logo for Deutsche Telekom, the nearest I could find... :hihi:

Ah, makes sense. :tu:

What's the theme here?:

Hint: the picture shows eight (possibly nine) artists with something in common. All active within the last couple of decades.

A few of the clues are slightly left-field, the rest are pretty straightforward.

See! I even found the picture, you b*st*rd! :D

:D

Sorry, I looked for a particularly bleak photo of Churchill, but the traditional 'bugger off I've got indigestion' expression was all I could find.

And I was thinking Battles as a possible alternative to Two Lone Swordsmen, though SoP works too. Now I'm wishing I'd smuggled a little Canadian flag onto the circuit diagram. :hihi:

All yours!

OK - apologies, but I'm not sure when I'm going to get the next question up - I'm just heading off to somewhere with uncertain internet access. Should be up Tuesday PM (GMT) at the latest.

Bollocks - ADSL line problems, which means I can only connect for 5 minutes at a time. Waiting for BT to do their stuff. Bear with me...

Apologies for the delay; as you've been waiting for so long, I've decided to go easy on you:

Eight albums. One EP. One, possibly two, connections (I'll be happy with one).

Colourbox - s/t
This Mortal Coil - It'll End in Tears
Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas
Throwing Muses - s/t
Pixies - Doolittle
Ultra Vivd Scene - Joy 1967-1990
the Wolfgang Press - Bird Wood Cage
Dead Can Dance - Aion
M|A|R|R|S - Pump Up the Volume (ep?)

Too obvious that they were all on 4AD?

And, yes, I read the NME quite a bit in the 80s...

I was more of a Melody Maker fan myself...the NME journos always seemed a bit too clever for their own good (or perhaps I was just too stupid).

I was trying to work out if the sleeves were also all by Vaughan Oliver, aka 23 Envelope/V23 - he generally did the in-house 4AD stuff - but then I got bored and stopped looking  .

Anyway...over to you! :tu:

I think you could be right on the Vaughn Oliver connection...

To be honest, I probably read Sounds more than either of the others, seemed to cover the noisy americans I was into more extensively. Had to put up with endless 'Dan Reed Network' features though.

Will be back later...
