I'm not trying to update it or run a control panel until I hear a lot of responses saying it works.

I'm liking it as it is.

Is the Red Music indicator supposed to flash all the time...never noticed it before (flashing).

Also, regarding the Ghost notes, I was going to ask you guys to try something for me and lo and behold, I now AM NOT getting the ghost notes. Yippe!

I'm wondering if you and jackstrat have a later serial # than Tapper Mike etc.?
I'm serial number 0000041 and took delivery on June 18th, 2010

Use search to read all my reviews.

Initially it took a very hard "pluck" on the strings to get anything out of the YRG. But I updated my Firmware and Library last week, and made a small change on String Sensitivity using YRG Control Panel V0.001, and all is working well now.

Hi, I just got my yourock today, and mine is bricked too :(
And I followed the instructions, how to update, I installed the program and run
And I noticed that it suddenly said p2 or p0 something, now the only thing
That the guitar do is flash with music button , I cannot connect to it and I tried to install , reset , and even tried to restore but it cannot find the guitar
I have serialnumber yrg-102 btw
Anyone who has a good tip, some files I can try? Anything...??
I have emailed inspired .

EDIT: i have a email dialog with Cliff right now!

looks like quite a few peeeps bricked their guitars. that freaking sucks!

i suggest anyone with a YRG, to avoid all updates and wait for Cliff (YRGStik) at Inspired to release the final debugged YRG Control Panel App and Firmware updates for your platform. There appears to be a lot of "buggy" code flying around lately.
Patience is a virtue here!

Be sure you have not accidentally set "Tap" mode" ON
So let me get this straight...
If you finger a hammer-on, while NOT in tap mode, your second fingered fret does not sound it's note.

Don't tell us about patience Steve.

I'm at work - i report tonight

FWIW - This is what Cliff says:
http://yourockplanet.com/index.php?topic=3.msg3#msg3
==
SLIDE uses pitch bend for hammer-ons instead of striking a new note
SLIDE only works over a whole step because it uses pitch bend and we want to maintain compatibility with most MIDI synth defaults - we will be expanding this and making it programmable in the future

If MIDI MONO is OFF (MIDI channels 1 ~ 16) - SLIDE only works when a single string is sounding
In MIDI MONO mode (MIDI 17~18) SLIDE works over all strings.

Looking forward to the answer tonight Elantric.

No...'slide' is not on.
I've corresponded with Cliff. I'm not in the dark on this matter.
I just don't like someone telling they are seeing results I haven't seen yet.
I want to know why.

OK ... we found out a few things ... on Vista and some Win 7 computers the OS does not copy the file from the system temporary folder to our folder (probably a permissions issue). This results in the updater erasing memory and then writing garbage to the guitar ... we will fix this immediately....

WORKAROUND: It seems to work if you set the YRG_App properties in Vista to Run as administrator.

RUN THE APP AS ADMINISTRATOR...
(Properties-->Compatibility--> run as administrator)

If you have already bricked your guitar using the Updater - you need to run the Emergency tool ... contact me at yrgbugs@gmail.com and I will help you with that.

Nothing YOU can do. The zip/rar was not packed completely or the FTP storage server is full, not uploading the complete zip file.
Where did you get it from? Talk to them.

Honestly I don't know what you are alluding to here.
Hf you strike a note and then hammeron another note it should sound the second note.
If you don't want the hammeron effect then you need to lift the first note before laying down your finger for the next note.

This gets into my previous response regarding the "string" membrane. It's too small both in width and hieght. Either one is on the note or off it there is no middle ground and no play. Which is quite different then the prototypes which had too much action. Watch the fish video he has a hard time clamping down on the strings.

Regarding build date of the yrg these shipments don't matter. What matters is the product to product assembly. The instruments are made by... human beings. Sub minimum wage human beings. The primary goal is to produce as many as possible not to insure that each one meets the highest standard possible. Who ever assembled mine was in a hurry. which is why the rubber shims that act as dampers were miss aligned on mine as was the hieght of the transducers sitting over the strings. Those were the source of my sissed notes and note falloff. As soon as I made adjustments I both got less missed notes and the output levels rose to a similar level as my other stings.

...And for the record;
I'm running the current v.1.3.1.9 update successfully.
