Updating Zebra Docs

LOVE Zebra 2.5, it's amazing!
I've been reading through the docs to make sure I know what's capable. I've learned a lot, but also found that some things in 2.5 are not in the manual.
For example in the Comb section, the PreFill knob is now called Noise and right clicking on it allows you to select from Noise, Saw and Square.
Here is the section:
http://www.u-he.com/zebra/manual/?page_id=10
I'm not complaining. What I want to know is if I (or others) can help contribute to the docs?
Best regards,
Gino

Yeah, sorry, the docs had to suffer because of a bunch of private issues earlier this year.
It isn't *that* much to add (e.g. ModMapper docs equal ACE's Mapping Generator, hence this chapter would simply be a copy/paste thing), but in general I was thinking of a mere rewrite. Look at the manuals for Uhbik and ACE which were translated/fine tuned by a native English speaker while adopting a rather narrative style. These are so much better, and I think Zebra deserves that too. Which of course is a big task.
We'll see... some fine tuning of 64 bit stuff, some soundbanks to be released and then maybe some docs updated, before it goes into update season.

I did the current Italian translation and English formatting.
If I am sent content, I can surely update both the Italian and English PDF (I would like to, I'm interested in having 2.5 new features well documented).

If so, there are small errors I notice while reading it. I sent the first few sections with my comments to Mario, but have not heard back (did you get it?)

Gino

It's the same content you have here:
http://www.u-he.com/zebra/manual/
Look at the march 5, 2008 post.
The PDF is derived straight from the ODF.
Gino, I received your mail thanks!
It will take a bit for me to get to it.
EDIT: I have no idea if Urs updated the online version compared to the PDF.

Hi Howard,Howard wrote:Urs - did you find that ODF file?
Brilliant stuff on the patches that come with Zebra 2.5. Harp Squeak was the one that convinced me to buy Zebra!
If you and others (including u-he himself) are willing to technically review the docs, that would be an enormous help.
I'm wondering why we can't start a WIKI, copy the existing docs there and have at it?
Best regards,
Gino

If it's of any value: earlier this year I wrote a Zebra manual using the material from the existing English language PDF and web manual. I did it in FrameMaker using a 30 day demo which is now expired. Here is the PDF output from it:
http://ccmw.files.wordpress.com/2010/02 ... de-2-2.pdf
(You should be able to download this without any password or anything. Let me know if you need me to email it to you.)
Feel free to use this in any way you like, and I can make the Frame files availble if they would be of any use to anyone.
In no way am I an employee or contractor of u-he; this was strictly a personal voluntary project.
Cheers

Did you send that to me? - When I was in Autralia, the internet connection was so bad at some point, I had to delete all large email attachments *before* downloading them, and I remember there was one about a manual. I tried to chase things up a few weeks later, but couldn't find anything anymore
