Hi SD from SA, they are free and they do work...they are just not working for you right now :D

Now what the problem is I don't know. I'm sure some Logic user will pipe in here and help you out pretty soon.

Maybe start a new thread: "Having problems with Free Effects in Logic version xyz"

Cheers,

I can't help on the issue of no sound, I'm on a PC and don't really know about Macs/Logic. It may be something really simple, like the dry/wet control being set to 100% dry?

The plugins have built in help buttons that explain the controls etc. Also check in the Melda folder for documentation in PDF format.

I don't think there is a method for selecting which plugins to install/de-install. That would be a great option, a simple tick list in the installer would work great no doubt.

Do you have a second plugin host you could test the plugins with, as it could be a setting in the current host that has been overlooked? Maybe download Reaper just to check it isn't Logic?

It is donationware, there is no obligation to licence the 'freeware' pack. For people who choose to 'donate', they recieve an upgraded version of the plugins in the bundle with extra features and no advertising.

Good luck sorting it out! I've been using MCreative Bundle since its release and have been very happy with both the plugins and Vojtechs response to my queries and sugestions. He is also usually very quick to respond (although it is night time here, so he may not be online).

Patrick :)

Hey folks, thanks for helping!
I'll clarify anyway, just to have official response :).

- It must work as demo. For free effects especially.

- Please try some alternative host such as Reaper, or GarageBand or something... Logic provides only AU, which is a mess, so despite I haven't received any bug report for some time, I'm just wondering when it comes, so maybe this is it. If it will work in Reaper (or the other), please send me your Logic version or some system info, or ideally some simple logic project you tried, so I can open it here and see if it works or if there is some bad settings (though I have no idea, what that would mean).
There will soon be an update, because of some tiny troubles and new features, so if there is a bug, it would be good to solve it now.

I use some of the Melda free plug-in with Logic 9.1.1 and they work just fine.

Maybe trashing the melda .plist file and rescanning using the aumanager?

Works sometimes.

Are you using Logic in 64bit mode?

:D, it is free, but it can be "extended" by donating, so it's basically donationware.

Extended means...more features? :?

Yes. Please check "licence & donate" on every plugin page.

Donating means HOW MUCH I want to give, not the amount the developer REQUIRES that I give as a "donation." A SPECIFIC price to unlock something means that portion of the software is shareware; I think we can all agree on that. "Freeware" versus "Donationware" versus "Shareware" versus "Demo"...the differences are fairly clear.

<off topic>I am not using Logic in 64-bit mode (no reason to do that). As for AUs being "a mess," that's a pretty funny assertion based on nothing. And Garageband uses AUs too (as does Soundtrack Pro and pretty much any DAW on the Mac except for Pro Tools). VSTs aren't available on most higher quality Mac DAWs.

I'll try dsp music's suggestion about .plists and rescanning.</off topic>

Okay, now I understand what the deal is...and I agree with your point about a true donation as opposed to a fee to unlock features not available otherwise. This is more like a light vs full version pricing plan, with free being the light version. The term donation isn't really accurate in this context.

Yes, I guess you are right about that, though usually donating means "give something or more", so here there is no "more". It was just easier to do actually :). I hope it's not too offensive to call this a donation, though it's probably not ideal term for that.

It's only marketing IMHO. My assumption of AU mess is simply based on the lack of documentation and a huge set of problems and differences between hosts I have already witnessed. Please don't take it personally.

The only issue I see is that the term donation has a well-established meaning that differs from your use of the term.

I'm not taking it personally.:) I'm just saying that a bazillion (that's a lot) other developers out there don't have any issues creating AUs, so I don't think they're a mess at all. All the others I use sound fine and work great. One can even use SonicBirth to roll one's own AUs (something I'm not inclined to do at all).

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to respond. If I can get your plugs working on my system and they sound good (already look good), I'll consider "donating" the required amount.

Ok folks, I'll check if it can be easily renamed to "upgrade" or something. 8)
