Hi,

I run Zebra 2.5 on a Toshiba Protege M700 Tablet PC with Windows 7 64 bit.
When I use my finger or the stylus to click, zebra alway recognizes this as a right click (context menu opens).
I don't have this problem with other Plugins. It seems also to be host independent and occurs also in Zebralette.

Has anyone expirienced similar problems on touch screens?

cheers

That's new to me. Hmmm... wonder what they do... hmmm...

Will look into the code tomorrow to see what it could be. Maybe there's an easy clue. Otherwise I could send you a debug version. This would log mouse events and we'd see what's different from normal clicks.

Hi Urs,

thanks for your fast support!
I have a dual boot system on my laptop and I just tried on my "normal" windows - same problem.
The problem does NOT occur while dragging.
It would really be great if you could send me the debug version, I think that will be the fastest way to find out what the problem actually is.

cheers,

Jojo

Hello,

unfortunately I haven't heared any news on this issue.
I would be very glad if this problem could be resolved.

I paid a lot of money for zebra, I think it is a great synthesizer, but I cannot use it porperly because of this bug.

Ah, sorry, my step father's funeral was around that time. Hence I must have forgotten about the issue.

I'll have another look into it tomorrow.

Cheers,

;) Urs

Hi Urs,

sincere condolences! Anyway its not super urgent...
But it would be really nice to see Zebra work with the touchscreen :-)

Hmmm... been looking at it but got no clue...

Anyhow, here's a debug version:

http://www.u-he.com/Z2Dbg.zip (.dll only)

You need DbgView.exe from Microsoft:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 96647.aspx

Then,

- start DbgView
- start host
- instantiate Zebra
- each touch will display some messages in DbgView

It would be great if you could send me the message for certain events (touch, mouse click) with a description of what's happening

Cheers,

;) Urs

Hi Urs,

Not sure what ever become of this issue, as it is still there. I have recently bought an Asus Ep101 slate (running win7 64)for music use and Zebra/Zebralette/Zebrify have this issue as well as Diva. I am guessing there is common GUI code used for all these.

Certain parts of the interface work fine if it is a left click drag(knobs, xy sliders, moving oscillator node points) Anything that requires a single left click(changing between tabs, selecting a patch, change LFO type) or double click(adding a module) is interpreted as being a right click.

This makes the plugins impossible to use with a tablet, as well as a standard Wacom tablet running under Windows. Not sure if using a Wacom tablet on Mac has the same issues? I have tried it in several hosts and on several PC's but they all have the same issue. It is one that I have not run into with any other application or plugin.

With the massive increase in tablet use as Win8 makes it's appearance this year, I would hope this issue is given a high priority

I had a chance to tryout Zebra on a Mac today with a Wacom tablet. Absolutely no issues at all. Must be a Windows issue,as I have tried it on several of my Vista and Win7 machines with the same problem.

Is this an acknowledged bug?

I am surprised that there has been no feedback on this

Urs, I am quite happy to help you get to the bottom of this. Do you have a more recent debug version of Zebra or Diva to test, as you had asked the OP to do?

cheers...

Hi there,

sorry for not responding for a long time. I just came across my own thread by chance while reading in the forum.
I'm currently trying out DIVA, and found the same issue here.

Urs, If you would kindly provide another debug version of either Z2 or Diva, I would be willing test it.

cheers

That is weird - I use all the u-he plugins for a long time with a wacom tablet exclusively and never had any of these problems - everything just works.
On Windows XP, Vista and 7...

Interesting.

Maybe you guys should look into your windows pen settings? I seem to remember that there were things set up in a way to somehow simulate a right click with the left button by - was it holding it down for a while? Can't remember.
First thing I always do is disable or uninstall all that windows tablet stuff ;-)
But may be rewarding to check out that end too.

Cheers,

Tom

Deactivating the "keep finger/stylus pressed for right click"-thing did not change behaviour for me.
Also it works fine with other plugins (just tried Pianoteq and Polysix for instance). Otherwise I would not complain here :-)

cheers

Weird.

Good luck then!
