Now the Inspired forum has this huge Big Brother warning at the top telling you all the things that will "not be tolerated". Yeah, like criticizing their lousy product. Treating customers like prisoners is always a smart move when you're an unknown company with a new game product that costs 400% more than your competitors yet does no more.

Let's see;

You're either Steve, and here to continue your rude behavior that you so nicely displayed on the Yahoo lists as well as your own forum, or your Tim Kelly, who's already been banned from this forum once for spamming the board with your drivel.

Which is it?

Either way, the irony is amusing, seeing as how you used the "crying" emoticon.

I've reported yourockplanet.com to as a malicious website; hopefully no one else will risk getting their PC infected then. It's a shame that a company that can afford to manufacture a product and take people's money can't manage to operate a proper, secure website free of malware. This is the second time in less than 2 months that there's been a malware issue with an Inspired-operated website.

Honestly the yrg is such a sad excuse for a midi instrument it isn't even funny. My DG-20 and my EZ-AG are a thousand times more responsive and have never needed a firmware update.
You might want to just call Starr Labs. They were quite friendly when I called, and they may be more than happy to share with you what they can, especially since you're already a ZTar owner.

I think for $400-$450, the Rock Controller will be THE midi controller for those that can't swing $1000+ for a ZTar, but don't want a cheap toy either.

Maruuk, EZ-AG question: how's the neck compared to the YRG? Does it flex as much as the YRG does, and how flat is the fingerboard? I found the YRG to be completely uncomfortable to play, due to the lack of radius.

I'm thinking of getting the EZ now, as I need to get some stuff done, and then use it as a spare lunch break controller at work once I get the Starr Rock Controller.

Polaris20 you don't even own a YRG anymore do you so why don't you go chat about Ztar on a Ztar forum?

This is supposed to be a You Rock Guitar forum.

Inspired is cleaning their sites right now I believe

I'll chat where I want to chat. The conversation isn't just about the YRG; after 87 pages it has come to encompass all of these more affordable devices. If you don't like it, go cry about it.

By the way, if you're Tim, I've reported you to a moderator, since signing up under an alternate username is against the ToS. They'll be able to tell by your IP address.

Might be that psycho Kevin Kent (the Inspired CEO) who cried to me about all these details of his personal life, then in the same paragraph launched into a hate rant against me. These guys need professional help.

@polaris

I know Harvey. I like the folks at starr labs. Rather then get information that works just for me. It would be nice if information was preseted to all. It cuts down on unneeded phone calls. And when I reply about something I can link to it on the site so it's all official like as opposed to hearsay. One post in his blog answers 30 calls all with the same questions.

Re EZ AG
It's a heck of a lot easier to play even with buttons. I haven't run it into my computer since I got my babyz. the neck is a slightly smaller hieght with a sligh thinner but not by much depth. Honestly if you want details on the ez-ag dig thru the ez-eg thread

If only Yamaha made a Control Panel for the EZ. The homemade app I used a couple of years ago for it was too techy and tricky.

Oh I see about the Starr info, very good point. It would be cool to see all that in a blog post.

Is the YRG site free of malware now?

Yes. Just checked it, it's ok to connect. :D

Also, like yrger said earlier, only v. 1.045 firmware is available. (as far as I know)
But still follow my setting suggestions I made earlier on...they should still work.
The only difference I thing will be that while in 'Slide' mode, hammering a full step up (2 frets) will be sharp by 1 fret. The same is true conversely for half step up hammering.

This was fixed in 1.049 beta.

Oops...i'm wrong about 1.045. Guess it doesn't have the 'hammer enable' function.
You'd need to disable 'hammer enable' in order so you can use the 'slide' feature as you hammer and not the 'hammer' feature itself...which is flaky...but not important anymore since the 'slide' pitching does work and does the hammering and pull-offs well when used with the 1.049 firmware.

Hey guys, thanks for sharing so much. I learned a lot about YRG here.

My serial number is #29. My biggest concern thus far is the neck sensitivity. I have to press real hard to do a barre chord, eg. Am7 at the 5th fret, without ringing out unintended opened string note.

I read about posting on music software earlier on, here's something I put together and would like to share. It's a simple program, hope this can keep you guys entertained. Please let me know what you think :)

Basically, you are able to use your YRG to learn fingerstyle guitar.
1. Set your YRG MIDI to preset 17 (to send MIDI data in mono mode)
2. Unzip and run the program
3. Select the MIDI in device as YRG (USB Audio Device)
4. Press "Play" to listen to the song.
5. Tick "Learn" check box to learn the song step-by-step.
6. You can also uncheck the "Learn" to play along in real-time, to see how accurate you are.
