All the V-Machine, vrack, vpedal range can have USB controllers plugged in to give them analog style controls if the units do not have any or the amount that you are after. This allows you to choose the type of controller that best suits you. The units support USB hubs so you are not limited by the amount of usb ports.
Keyboard players, can buy any number of keyboards which have built in controllers, faders, buttons and knobs are all available on midi controllers.
Guitarists can use these types.

or for a more serious branded pedal.

Sudio users, can use midi controllers like these.
http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/BCF2000.aspx
The advantage is the vrack or vmachine can be placed in the 'machine room' of the studio to keep the noise out of the 'control room' and use any midi controller right at the mixer to control the vrack/vmachine.

the problem is, that the vmachine do not understand relative CC's, so if your keyboard do not support midi-feedback (as a lot of modern midi keyboards with encoders do), you have parameter jumps if you change presets for example.
so all you described here is not possible for all midi hardware - thats a pitty.

A cheaper midi controller is not going to work as well as one that does support feedback. The 'B control' range from behringer is both cheap and supports midi feedback. To see one in use just watch this video..
There are other better quality units which do the same thing if you need a reliable and robust controller.

Hey guys!
Anyone used that Feedback store in the Netherlands before?
I got a quote for €15 shipping to Ireland - sounds good.
They sent me an invoice with bank details to pay into. My address was correct but Ireland was written in Biro and my phone number was wrong. When I emailed them about it they said - its ok we have the correct details.
I would like to pay by creditcard - as I get more time to pay my bank and there is insurance on it. I got this reply:
Creditcard is an option; there has to be made an online order. However we
get alot of difficulties with creditcard payments from abroad.
It is not really clear why, but it works 50/50. Sometimes it works,
sometimes it doesnt, and it is unclear what the problem is.
The safest way to pay would be still via a wire-payment though.
I imagine its all legit and they guys have been helpful and always emailed in English - but I thought I'd ask yer opinion?
Dave

Yah, I bought one from them through bank transfer. It arrived pretty quickly. They sent me their bank details and I just transferred the money. €15 postage for me too.

I have a question, as that 199 euro price caught my attention.
If I was to get a V Machine it'd be to replace my laptop on stage. Right now I have 2 keyboards going into my laptop, for 2 players. Is this possible with V Machine? And if so, can both access the same VSTi at the same time? Finally, Sylenth isn't on the list of confirmed/tested VSTi's, can anyone else confirm this as it's a vital one for me.
thanks

yes, the 2 keyboard thing works, you even could use 3 at the same time; there are 2 usb ports and one standard midi port, so you e.g. can connect two usb keyboards at the same time, or one over standard MIDI cable and one (or two) over usb at the same time; they by default access the same VSTi, but this of course depends on the MIDI channel settings (you also could send them to different VSTis - there can be four in one preset, each in one channel)
I'm using it often this way, so one keyboard connected over standard MIDI and another one connected by USB, both accessing the same VSTi, plus additionally connected a MIDI controller over the second USB port to tweak parameters; works without a problem
Concerning Sylenth I don't know, the best you contact the dev directly (or SM Pro Audio) to ask about it

Two keyboards will work, but the V-Machine doesn't have much horsepower...pick your instruments and effects carefully. I sold mine a few months ago because the outputs are too low (-10dB) and the CPU can't keep up.
Having said that, these things really are brilliant. I've found them to be very flexible in terms of the VSTs they'll run and they're very stable. I'm waiting for the V-Rack to show up in stores...I will buy one immediately!

Hi,
Being on an Intel Mac and OS 10.5.8, I thought I could use the VFX app (without V-Machine connected, since I don't own one) to host an audio effect (James Martin's Reverb Remover), piping audio into VFX using Soundflower from Cycling 74.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to persuade any audio to enter VFX 2.0. I know Soundflower is working (I checked with DSP Q sending audio to Live), but nothing in VFX.
Poring over the manual, I noticed that in the Preferences (Windows version) it's possible to select your audio interface.
However, the Mac VFX Preferences doesn't have any such settings, only locations for the libs, etc.
Does anybody know if VFX Mac can accept audio in at all, without a connected V-Machine?
Is there a secret trick, perhaps?;-)
Best,
Joachim

I'm using VFX with SoundFlower within 10.5.8, I however have never used the audio input so far; but what I know, and this might help you, is that VFX always refers to the standard input/output, so you have to check what's set as standard input/output in the audio/midi settings of OS-X; normally it's the built in soundcard; so if you want to use a different input, you have to change the standard input accordingly; to use with soundflower you have to choose "Soundflower (2ch)" as input/output

Thanks for the heads up, Peter999 - I'll check it up again.
Thing is, I also tried with a Voxengo plug which has on board metering of input/output and whatever I did with Soundflower in the System Audio setup - nothing.
I'll try again, though…
Best,
Joachim
