How do I tell MuLab to listen to a USB-Host input? I tried Edit >Midi Setup and nothing. I would like to use this keyboard as a controller.

MuLabs Version: 3.2.2
OS Windows7/32bit
Synth- Yamaha YPG 535

MU.LAB will display any MIDI Input devices available at the time you started MU.LAB. If you connect a device after starting MU.LAB, it won't be available.

HI KVRAF correction - pljones, (edited)

I stated that I am using a USB/MIDI cable connection. I can not get MU.LAB to see my Yamaha. Is there any documentation on how to successfully connect using a USB/Host connection?

This should be supported by the OS as a MIDI Port. If not, then no application that accesses MIDI ports will see it.

Did you connect it before starting MU.LAB?

Have you read your USB/MIDI cable's manual?

I am using a M-Audio Radium, which is a USB midi controller and I never had any problems in Mu.Lab.

I guess it's short for KVR Audio Friends ???

My mistake,

I corrected that entry from "KVRAF" to "pljones." There is no USB/MIDI cable's manual. Will just purchase a MIDI interface - may be just easier than trying to figure this out :( .

The drivers are all installed and when I turn off the Yamaha, the USB disconnect, audio alert sounds out.

Yes, I've tried all kinds of combination to initialize this. I've also followed the PDF manual which instructs on how to send MIDI data out.

OK... Does the Yamaha come with its own drivers or use the Windows ones? If it comes with its own drivers and you're running a 64bit OS, do the drivers support 32bit apps?

Get a program like MIDI-OX and see what MIDI Ports it reports. Is the Yamaha shown?

Hi pljones,

Yes I download and installed the Window7/32 bit for my OS from the Yamaha download site. I can see the hardware status reflect the Yamaha within the System Device.

Will search for MIDI-OX. I was thinking that if the MIDI connection is via USB cable than MU.LAB would need to know.

Thank you again,

Connection problem solved,

All working nicely now. I did nothing. I shutdowm the computer. Upon a restart, it now interacts with MU.Lab. Thank you Pljones for your sincere willingness to help.
