I was listening to the demo and thinking "Hey, this sounds really nice!" Then I saw the price and thought "Just $7? What am I waiting for?" and clicked on the Paypal link right away.

Looking forward to getting the download link.

Edit: just received it, and played around with the sounds. I'm going to be using these sounds a lot, they're fantastic.

Do you need the full version of Zebra to play these files or can they play in Kontakt, SampleTank, Dim Pro etc..??
Make music :harp:

Wow, thank you, guys :). Really...thank you!

You know, this is my second vintage style soundbank release and I am yet again amazed at the positive reactions because vintage emulations are an entirely different animal altogether. They sound simple at first listen, but to me, they are paradoxically harder to do than monster "spaghetti patches" awash with obvious complexity because you have very sutbtle nuances that if you mess up, the purists will notice haha. As an example, on the Juno 106 style patches, I tried to emulate the actual stereo Juno chorus (setting II) and managed to get close enough, but still wasn't able to get it 100%. You hear a chorus effect going on, but there is none in the effect box - it's all LFOs and an extra OSC added to do the job, plus some adjustments on the osc-width settings.

Hi there

These patches are usable with Zebra only. I read the other thread and I apologize to you personally for the delay in response as I tend to not check the "info" email as often as I should (most of my contact with customers is via my personal email).

Bryan. Did I read somewhere that you'll be following this up with another 80s soundset? Part 2 maybe? If so - count me in for a pre-order ;)

Cheers,
Colin

Count on it :) I'm hoping to get some good D-50 style sounds in here the second time around seeing as Zebra actually IS quite capable of emulating a significant number of the classic D-50 patches.

Great set!
I've just bought it to learn some techniques!

Hope you'll find the set educational :). Check out the use of veeeery short stereo delay in the "Too Much Time" bass patch to emulate a stereo widener effect, and the use of an additional OSC module in the Juno 106 string patch to emulate the Juno 106 "chorus II" setting (no actual chorus effect is being used). In the Prophet 5 Sync lead patch, an additional osc was discretely added to closer emulate the fundamental harmonic warmth of the real thing and I messed about with the phase setting to try and smooth out the sync modulation so it sounds less "quantized".

Thank you for the tips, i was checking the "Too Much Time" patch just today!
The short delay is a clever effect, something like the LP filtered noise to emulate reverb on drum patches!

Small bump.

Xenos has added a 7 preset demobank for this soundset. You can get it from the u-he patchlib:
http://u-he.com/PatchLib/presets/z2/Xen ... s_Demo.zip

or from Xenos' site itself:

Did someone say "preorder for Part II"? Just bought Part I, and am loving it!

Hey thanks for the heads-up, bmrzycki. I didn't know my demo was uploaded to the U-he site :). Maybe Urs did that?

Jcsquire1, I'll have the second vintage soundset released soon, as well as a Dubstep and DnB bank, too :).

No problem. :) It slipped under my radar and I noticed it when verifying links on the commercial presets section of the website.

I was the one that uploaded it to the u-he patchlib. I hope you don't mind. ;) There are some very nice sounds in the freebie demobank!
