This is a con, I bought THE FINGER as a full product that works with the free KORE PLAYER! Now I have bought a partly crippled effect software that needs a second purchase to get full functionality...

Am I wrong or right in sounding a bit pissed about this? :?
Wrong :hihi:

Hey, Reaktor Player is FREE! So you don't need to buy anything else.
There is no restrictions either. I believe if you own the Kore sound pack, you get the Reaktor version for free, so you will have BOTH.
Also there is NO restriction.... If you have Reaktor (or Komplete) you can edit the Finger just like a Kontakt player can edit most Kontakt player files.

I think it's pretty much a big win for everyone!! :)
BTW the Finger kicks serious ass! (Not to mention the upcoming Prism ;))

surely if you paid to buy it, you knew that it was being sold as a Kore Pack for use in Kore or the Kore Player? Not a 'Reaktor Pack'
, I should not have to buy a seperate VST(REAKTOR 5.5) to gain this?
Wrong way round. You got the Kore Pack functionality you paid for. If you bought a separate VST (Reaktor5) then you get additional functionality by being able to access the inner workings of the thing you bought.

Its just the same as if you'd bought a Kore Pack which was based around Absynth engine, then you'd be able to use those sounds in Kore2 or the Kore player, and if you actually owned Absynth you could edit them further,
It should be fully functional in the coming REAKTOR PLAYER.
Kind of impossible if the Reaktor Player doesnt give you the 'full functionality' that Reaktor does. Which it wont, since its not Reaktor, its Reaktor Player.
You don't buy a sampleset(I.e Alicia's KEYS) from them that is restricted for use in the free KONTAKT PLAYER, it the same as using it in full KONTAKT..
.

Actually you do.

This is a con, I bought THE FINGER as a full product that works with the free KORE PLAYER!
And it still does.
Now I have bought a partly crippled effect software that needs a second purchase to get full functionality...
No, you bought a full product that works with the free KORE PLAYER, but which requires a second purchase to get extra functionality...
Am I wrong or right in sounding a bit pissed about this? :?
Yes, you're wrong. You got exactly what you paid for. But you're complaining that, since its built in Reaktor, and there's extra functionality available to those people with a full version of Reaktor, then you've been conned somehow. But you didnt buy it on the basis of what you could do with it in Reaktor. you bought it on the basis of what it does as what its sold as; a Kore Pack.
You're also seemingly complaining that, since its going to be revised to work in a free product that might give you more functionality than the version you've got, that that's somehow also a way in which you're being conned. That make no sense; you're getting more for free.

To rely on that old staple, the car analogy, you bought a car and it works exactly as required. But you've just discovered that if you bought an expensive programming addon for the onboard engine and suspension management system, you could make it drive faster or more efficiently, or whatever. And you're complaining that that means you're somehow being conned into buying the management system, even though the car works perfectly well.
An idiot on Set Theory:

artificial restrictions + douchebag managers + propaganda ("this is only the best for you") = marketing = greed

NI is going down the WAVES.

To be released on September 1st, along with Komplete 7.

I think we've covered that there is no need to purchase kore/reaktor. There will be a reaktor "player" available on sept 1st which is going to be the way the finger (maybe others) are handled.

Pity reaktor player won't be x64...........

OK! OK! I see your point! No more wining! I don't know nothing about Reaktor so thought it was a marketing scam...I'll use the free Reactor Player and be happy! :)

Thread for me has concluded! Feel free to talk about whatever and cookies

glad you feel better about it. all this "player" stuff can be confusing, but trust me... you'll be better off in a player dedicated to reaktor then you are now with a general and bloated kore player. i couldn't believe i was forced to install over 400 mb of bullshit just to run the finger in kore player, which is problay a 500 kb reaktor ensemble. i'm glad ni is giving us another option soon.

btw, it does look as if you will have the full gui in reaktor player, doesn't it? that's how it's showing the other reaktor ensembles on the ni website... if so, where would the limitations be?

I love Kore Player for use with Soundpacks - but did find The Finger APITA to use in Kore, I've set it up once, I want it for remix style editing at the end of making a tune, especially for drum edits, maybe a bit of glitch here and there, I'm not a glitch-a-holic though!

If it's better in Reaktor
Pkayer than in Kore Player I should be happy then! 8)

Something I read on it and how it was worded, don't know where on that million page :? N.I. site though!

Edit:

It was this -

Please note: Only when used in REAKTOR 5.5 will users have access to the REAKTOR user interface demonstrated in the product video. In REAKTOR 5 PLAYER, you have access to the most important sound settings."

This is what sparked it!

Anyways, time for a cookie!
