a (maybe) simple feature request for A.C.E.

Could we get an checkbox option that would basically "break" all prewired routing so we have to patch everything outselves? I'm trying to use A.C.E. as part of my scheme to teach an old roommate of mine to program synths and it would be helpful for that, as well as general messing around on my part.

I know I'll be laughed at, but how about some sort of "intelligent" preset randomisation feature similar to the one for NI's Absynth 5. I know very little about programming, and the thought of learning doesn't appeal.

The randomisers for Zebra should also work for ACE:dcfac73 wrote:I know I'll be laughed at, but how about some sort of "intelligent" preset randomisation feature similar to the one for NI's Absynth 5. I know very little about programming, and the thought of learning doesn't appeal.

One could write intelligent randomisers specifically for ACE though...

Exactly. Only calculate pre-defined wires if required.jupiter8 wrote:AKA Lazy Evaluation support.Urs wrote:Maybe...

I was thinking more:I might implement that when the time comes or i may not. It depends on things i cannot predict for the moment.Urs wrote:Exactly. Only calculate pre-defined wires if required.jupiter8 wrote:AKA Lazy Evaluation support.Urs wrote:Maybe...
Haskell has a maybe datatype.

or if A.C.E. XL doesn't include pre-wired connections for a more "true modular" setup then maybe the pre-wired nature of ACE could be considered a "defining quality" and therefore stay that way.

Well, considering how *often* the request comes up, I wouldn't mind to add a simple switch in the circuit bending section.MitchK1989 wrote:or if A.C.E. As there has also always been the request to adapt the labels of inputs according to the wire source, turning said switch would also have to empty the default input labels and stuff.
And of course, this opens up the possibility for "normalisation templates" for Berlin Modular where one could choose between various pre-wired situations instead of no internal wires at all.

Urs
It all sounds good to me. A.C.E. and the upcoming berlin modular was a large part of my motivation in a brand new computer, so I obviously don't hate it as is
