i think it's great that urs doesn't do these group buys and crazy sales: in the end people end up buying stuff they don't really need and hold off buying other things they would need, waiting for the next sale.
it's ok if developers sell something cheaper because it's gotten a bit "old" but i prefer if they do that permanently then.
this said, i got the kontakt 4 upgrade in summer sale, though, i won't complain.

Yeah, sorry, no group buys.
Uhbik is still on introduction special (until Uhbik-X finally arrives) and for Zebra there's always the dinosaur crossgrade.
The ultimate special however is that updates are usually free, so there aren't any hidden costs whatsoever.

Seems to me (and not pointing the finger at you fas1piano)the most eople that don't like the idea of GBs usually have a delusion of grandeur cause **say in a pompous voice** My plug in has never been on a group buy, it's not common... I paid full price for it faaa faaaa (<--- British pompous larf).
In saying that, I think the only company so far since I've been on the scene (about 15 years) to have pulled off a successful GB and hold it's status, customer base, and reputation has been Camel Audio. It was a brave move, and they pulled it off
For the record, "Would I mind a Zebra GB"? No, I don't measure my worth / musical worth the price, or exclusivity of my plug-ins.

PS: ...this is just off the cuff ramblings on the general subject, so don't be
havin a fit, aight?

It's cheap enough as it is - no need for a GB - more cash to the developer means more great upgrades and productsUrs wrote:Yeah, sorry, no group buys.
