Hi All,

The other day I saw a goldfish bowl and it had various toys in the bottom like treasure chests and sunken boats etc.

I started to imagine what it would be like to be in a miniature submarine in such a bowl and fighting a battle against the goldfish for the bowl and all the treasure.

So using only MU.LAB instruments and effects, plus the electric guitar in the "Rock Pack" I wrote this little track.

It is not a polished piece of music just a musical idea that popped into my head.

It's fun - I like it! It's got the feel of one of those Japanese Thunderbirds style programmes (Star Fleet?).

How did you get the sonar sound?

Post

Hi nicenoise,

It is a preset that comes with MU.LAB

The specific note played was "A4".

The preset can be found in

Synths > Mutools > ROM > SFX

It is just called Sonar.

It was one of the presets that I sent to MUTOOLS and they included it in the main package at M3.

The preset was just created but turning knobs etc in Synthia the sound kind of created itself pretty much like all the presets I donated.

Glad you liked the track it was just a bit of fun. It took about an hour to make start to finish hence there is no real attention to detail in the mixing etc.

I like writing tracks as fast as possible but always get bored with mixing and mastering so most of my stuff is neither mixed or mastered correctly.

An hour - blimey. I liked it enough to put on my playlist :-)

Hi All,

Got in late tonight.

Spent a couple of hours with the Bamboo samples.

Here is the result.

Again just a basic song track idea with no real attention to detail etc.

A bit late tonight so done on headphones.

P.S all done with MU.LAB ROM presets no VST etc.

Sounds AWESOME, somehow on the "Tangerine Dream" kind of line but better :D

Here's an electronic instrumental (MWM) that you can't dance to.

hi,
been away from the computer for a bit [gardening in lovely weather!] and it looks like MuTools has gone critical! The sharing things sounds relly exciting.

are we talking about 100% mutools to class as MWM or are 3rd party plug-ins alowed?
.
.
p.s. i have recently started using Audioboo as you can link it straight into facebook. i have a couple of mutools tracks on there if any one wants to have a quickie :hihi:

So, my main drums are Drum Core 3 free version...
what do you think of Drumcore? i have only had a quick play but couldn't really get my head round it. on paper it sounds just what i want as i am happy making drum sounds but find pattern programming tiresome...

You might want to give Tatapoum a try. It handles samples very well, has lots of FX, You can opt for pattern programming (32 patterns per preset) or just let it be driven by the host.

I never got any pattern programing easy to use, I write/ play on keyboard and use copy/paste for repeating parts, then edit a bit the dynamics for a more "human feel".

Another MuSynth preset - BigKick.MuSynth

This is supplied as a Zip file since it uses the Sampla. A severely edited WAV file goes in \user\Library\waveforms, and the MuSynth patch goes in \User\Library\MuSynth. Just unzip with folder names.

This was created to use primarily in Hip Hop where a deep kick lends a booming kick but it also works elsewhere. Trigger keys are best in the range A2-A3, so you can tune the pitch from deep to high. There is a fairly long tail, so holding down a key keeps the kick alive. Here is a short - BigKickExample.mp3 - you can hear the effect. The BigKick is added at bar 5 and again at bar 13. The MP3 doesn't capture it as well as a CD.

Just a kick.
