Just in case :

I remember that the HM80 Eventide harmonizer had a backward mode ( backward, transposed samples of the signal ) that reduces those glitching noises noticeably and gave a very particular colour to all glided or portamenti notes

Here an example on an old essai i've made on a 4track K7 during early eighties :

www.anak-krakatoa.net/~downl/misc/Shimmervox.mp3

The (highly inspired ! ) upfront melancholic voice is processed as described, notice especially from 2.08 to 2.25 how the backward mode drastically affects the slow monophonic line of the whistle !
I was wondering at what degree this particular technique would have been involved into your reverb unit if its the case
Maybe slightly off-topic, but i'm afraid i'm one of those who much appreciated all of your highly inspirational tutorial pages !!!!!!

 :tu:

No backwards grains in ValhallaShimmer. I experimented with backwards grains during the development process, but the forwards grains with some randomization worked much better for this sound.

I love the ValhallaFreqEcho  . ValhallaShimmer looks and sounds like it is going to be another great plugin!! Can't wait to try it out. I love plugins like these that offer something rather different to what is already out there. Thanks Sean!! :D

Hi all:

I just got ValhallaShimmer running on my Windows XP machine, to my own shock and surprise. I started the port this morning, and was having some compiler issues, but it looks like I've solved them. It still needs some optimization work - I want to use the Intel IPP, and I haven't put that code in yet. Still, it is running, it isn't crashing, and it sounds great.

So it looks like the initial release will be both Windows and OSX. VST and Audio Units for sure, and most likely Mac RTAS. There are a few Windows RTAS issues I need to work out, so the Windows RTAS may be delayed, but it seems important to get the Windows VST out ASAP.

More details as they emerge. Thanks to everyone for your kind words in this thread.

It would be great also if it can run on Windows 64bit...it would be another good reason to buy it.

All the best!

64 bit will follow after the initial release.
