No backwards grains in ValhallaShimmer. I experimented with backwards grains during the development process, but the forwards grains with some randomization worked much better for this sound.Krakatau wrote:Just in case :
I remember that the HM80 Eventide harmonizer had a backward mode ( backward, transposed samples of the signal ) that reduces those glitching noises noticeably and gave a very particular colour to all glided or portamenti notes
Here an example on an old essai i've made on a 4track K7 during early eighties :

The (highly inspired !) upfront melancholic voice is processed as described, notice especially from 2.08 to 2.25 how the backward mode drastically affects the slow monophonic line of the whistle !
I was wondering at what degree this particular technique would have been involved into your reverb unit if its the case
Working on it!woolyloach wrote:Played with FreqEcho last night - w04h!![]()
Hurry up and ship Shimmer, I think I could find a place for it in this ambient soundscape project I'm doing...![]()

It would be great also if it can run on Windows 64bit...it would be another good reason to buy it.valhallasound wrote:Hi all:
