Hello all.
I am a new Receptor owner and new to this forum as well, so please bare with me. I am having some real difficulty (not to mention frustration) installing my compliment of VSTs onto my new Receptor 2 (v1.8.2). By dropping installers in the "drop installers here" folder & to the "unsupported plugins" I am able to successfully open the setup dialogue within the receptor interface and install any plugin. I then perform a plugin refresh utility. My problem occurs when I go to load the plugin in the mix window and it will not appear as apart of the list. I then would go and check the install directory and all the files appear to be in the right place after the installation and even more strangely the plugin WILL appear in the uninstall plugin list on the setup page. So some how the Receptor is seeing it there but not in the main plugin selector.

Has anyone had an issue like this one? Or is can any of the KVR guys give me a hand here? Quite bizarre that the installer would go ahead without any error, the refresh plugin center as well, then not be able to see my plugin in the drop-down menu on the mix page - only to then see it in the uninstall list. Quite weird. Some of my plugins have successfully installed, but everything I've tried doing from this point on has caused this same issue with every title I own.

Please help! Thanks so much,

CW

What's an example, or 2, of the plug-ins you see installed, but cannot seem to access?

well it seems that I run into this issue with any plugin I try to install now. Most recent ones were refx vanguard and beast, as well as gforce's minimonsta and imposcar. All I was able to get were my AAS plugins on there, as well as camelphat, that's it.

I was thinking that you may not be aware that the Effect plug-ins will only show-up in the Effect inserts, not as an instrument, and vise-versa.

One important thing to keep in mind is that all VST plugins have an ID. The Receptor will only show every ID only once. I once ran into the issue that an effect version of the plugin has the same ID as the instrument plugin (e.g VB3fx.dll and VB3.dll). In that case, it safer to only use one DLL.

yeah I hear you but thats not the problem. I've thought of that and only installed the actual instrument .dll

I'm wondering now if it has something to do with the way I'm installing them. These are not "Receptorized" plugins. They are the .exe's I received upon purchasing the software years back. The manual states that there are "prep" installers needed to install "user-installable" plugins. Are those available on plugorama at the moment? I can't find them - or are they simply what they're calling a cross grade?

Thanks and again I'm new so thats why I'm not sure on all the terminology at the moment.

Hi,

A Receptor installer is available for Minimonsta on the Plugorama website. Usually, when a Receptor installer is available you cannot install the plugin successfully yourself.
