Is Kick Ass Brass good on Receptor

I did a search and found a 2 year old comment about long load-times and being heavy on the CPU.
I have EWQLO and Kontact2 samples but I need a realistic pop brass plug-in that's efficient with Receptor.
I'm fairly well covered for orchestral brass.
I'm really not interested in pre-recorded riffs; and I have enough falls, splats and other horn effects.
Can someone confirm that KAB is great for my Receptor 2 or not?

Hi JayVee,
I have KAB on my Receptor 1 (haven't moved it to 2 yet, but I'm guessing it will just work). KAB covers the basics for pop brass pretty well. It's architecture for loading multis is a bit different than EW / Kontakt, but not really a problem. It sounds great in a mix, and is aggressive enough for Funk parts that I play. It also sits well for Soul and other genres. It is probably too 'in-your-face' for orchestral, but It sounds like you have that covered.
KAB is an older lib, you might wish to get some feedback and comparisons with other brass libs (First Call Horns, Vir2 Mojo, ...).
Regards,
Kevin L

Thanks Kevin.
Does the Vir2 Mojo come individually?
It seems to only be available on Receptor as part of the Vir2 Bundle?
Has anyone used the First Call Horns?
Are they punchy and realistic?

Are you using KAB live or for arrangements? I am looking for a good & funky brass sound for live (one hand) usage. Is there any affordable and quick loading/low CPU product available? Or am I asking too much...

Hi Guys,
Fedde: Yes, that is what I'm doing (1 hand stabs, think Stevie Wonder "Superstition"). You can layer saxes/trumpets to cover doubles and splits. If I remember correctly, each articulation is a different layer. If you put the thought into what you need ahead of time, you can build some nice sounding multis. I simply layered Trumpets/Saxes in a restricted range with 1 (bombastic) articulation - and it sounded great for me. Keep in mind, purists that look for articulations will allways say - that doesn't sound real; still I find this covers sections admirably.
JV: I haven't tried either FCH or Mojo. Both are Kontakt libs, and should be installable (check with Muse).
One other option guys: I've also been using the Chris Hein Horns series. It is overkill for what you need for live play, however the section recordings are very good - and this could easily be used live. I have CHH 1-3 on my Receptor.

Thanks.
It seems that Mojo is 'buggy' on Receptor, and although I have Kontact 2, I believe Mojo has it's own GUI.
No one ever raves about the Garritan Jazz & Big Band collection...
It looks like I might just get the First Call Horns.
