So now that you have Plugsound Pro, how would you say it stacks up against Halion Sonic (esp. the brass)?

Plugsound Pro still doesn't have the brass I'm looking for.I sampled my Motif XS favorite Brass Ensemble patches though,and use them in Mach Five 2,which can then be read and used in BPM. Waveframe also is a nice compliment though,I use this to stack/layer with my XS patches in Mach Five 2..

I really wish that Otristan would allow for users to use our own Mach Five 2 presets inside UVI workstation though,by design it won't work. I think it would be better for sound designing of course,I really like UVI workstation it's extremely fast.. As far as Halion Sonic,I don't miss it yet,perhaps when Steinberg starts bringing out libraries I WILL GET IT AGAIN. So far my main tool though is Mach Five 2,this allows me to design the kind of larger then life Brass Ensembles I love. hope that makes sense.

As far as value and sound quality though comparing the two, thats an easy one for me,Halion Sonic is very good,but overall sound tone quality I like UVI stuff.I think they spend a heck of alot more time using better conversion,higher end equipment,and their samples/sounds translate very good.In the end I think the old sayings true,you get what you pay for.

Of course anytime, I'd keep an eye out for UVI though,because after looking at most of their libraries,they still don't have a dedicated brass library, which may mean it will come one day.Hopefully sooner then later

It would surprising that energyXT do not send any MIDI CC
What are you trying to do ?

Do you send the MIDI CC on the right channel ?
MIDI learn is not omni FWIW.

If you gives me more info, we can maybe figure what's going wrong.

The UVI receives the midi message when I put it in midi learn but if I move the knob on my midi controller the parameter value on the UVI goes to zero and do not move from zero...

It is best to try it for yourself

I did some more tests today and UVI is working fine… But in this prticular project that I'm working on midi cc simplty doesnt work . In the inicial projecto i had several tracks(gurocm, drumatic 3 and several vst synths) here is the projecto with just the UVI track if you want to tests...
I think the problem is in energyxt

Thanks for the heads up.

I don't have much time right now to take a look, but what I will suggest
is to check if the UVIWorkstation MIDI light on the left of each part
lighten when you move your MIDI CC.
So you can decide if either the host is not sending those or UVIWorkstation is not receiving those.

04-Synth Bass > R'n B - Funk > Compress
(There may be the same problem with other presets)

Hi,

I've downloaded the latest UVI workstation installer 1.1.7 for windows. I'm using WinXP SP3. I've tried to install but there is an error saying "an error occurred while trying to copy a file. the source file is corrupted". The file name is 'is-80BFI.tmp\DriverSetup.exe'. Will downloading the installer again solve the problem? Or should I go for some earlier versions?
