y'know, the more I think about it, the more I think I may actually be wrong about the connection... But, hey, have a go anyway. Watch me fail people, watch me fail!

Yo La Tengo are the odd ones out, because they haven't appeared in films, only written soundtracks?
Bauhaus - The Hunger
Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Body Double
Digital Underground - Nothing But Trouble
Mary Harron is a red herring? Or a red heron?

Did Yo La Tengo appear in a film, but:
a) Not play any music
b) Play live (and the others didn't)
c) Not play live (and the others did)
d) All dress up as Mary Harron/herons/herrings
e) None of the above
?
(I thought I'd try the brute force approach...)

Um... e) so does that mean you gave a correct answer..?

Near enough.
They all appeared in films but only Yo La Tengo 'played' another band, all the others played themselves (or just a nameless appearance).
YLT played the Velvet Underground in a party scene in 'I Shot Andy Warhol' (directed by Mary Harron) though I've now seen an article which says they weren't meant to be the VU...
I guess they were still portraying a band other than themselves so maybe I got away with it...
Ho hum.
B_F?

All correct - all are public holidays in different parts of the world.
Over to you, Tex...
