Track is up. titled "fudge" for no good reason.
20x Noisemaker
1x epicverb
1x blockfish
7x roughrider
4x density
2x valhalla freqdely (no frequency shifting used)
3x classic delay
1x gclip
lots of internal reverb and chorus.
this is a pretty cool synth. I can't wait to hear what everyone does with it.

Great, thx for the update and prize offer.Xenox.AFL wrote:Yes, we released TAL Noizemaker 2.0 some hours ago..
Well, Patrick and me didn't know that you started a "one-synth challenge" with the TAL Noizemaker, shame on you that you never informed us!
Well, anyway, i will spread this ofcourse and i will think about throwing a price into this compo... Let's see if i find something interesting for you!
by the way, we start collecting presets for this synth, if you want to see your presets in one of the upcoming updates, please, contact me...
Should have informed you about this comp, just assumed someone had done so already..

Hi Frank, I replied to your email, but I think I should say here, sorry for not contacting you.
Thanks very much for the prize offer and hope you can contribute a track, and also hope that the comp is of some significant benefit to your work/products.
Thanks very much for your support.

Frank, not true at all. I informed Patrick every step of the way.Xenox.AFL wrote: Yes, we released TAL Noizemaker 2.0 some hours ago..

i sent an email to Patrick on the 11th of august (3 weeks before the start of the comp) informing him Noisemaker had been chosen for the September KVR challenge and if there was any prob to contact Tattiemannie.
he replied to me promptly saying that it was cool and lookin forward to it.
I sent him another email the 9th of september to inform him the competition had started (i even gave him link to this thread)
he replied to me promptly saying that it was great news and that he would keep an eye on it.
u can ask Patrick yourself if u don't believe me.
anyway an update was to be expected ... this new version still regains full compatibility with patches from the previous version which is the most important thing (the synth still sounds exactly the same)... and no major changes to the synth itself apart from envelope editor (an extra envelope).
so i don't think this update is gamebreaking for the "competition" anyway...
in others words.....thx for the update...and lets get some music done . 1 week to go

Why should i not believe you?
Well, it could be that Patrick and me were talking about other things instead of the compo, we talked a lot about the improvements in Noizemaker and changed a lot... Whatever, nice to see a compo here and i try to contribute with a track, only 3 days left...
by the way, there are some very, very cool tracks in the compo.. Nice..

Well I really liked the look of Noizemaker and even went back in to "upgrade" my piece for the OSC. I spent hours and couldn't really improve the track, so I left it as is. It craved imperfection.
I can't find where I read it but the OSC21 is using Chimera, right? I opened up a few lanes in Live and loaded Majken's Chimera into them, got on the keyboard and had a play.
I have already done a piece for the OSC21 but I'm having massive trouble rendering it out as Chimera is very unstable. It pegged my processor about 10 times and even after freezing 6 out of the 10 tracks, crashed Live repeatedly. I've made a nice track but I have to render out entire lanes.
I'd ask are we sure about the aptly named "Chimera?" It's a great synth but horribly unstable.
STOP PRESS: I had to remove kjauerhaus limiter, EQ and compressor, so I'll use the native ones in Audition 3. I'm so pleased with this track (which can be found here: http://bit.ly/9cUQiv) and I apologise for hogging the tail end of thread.

I just found this forum and I'm thinking of submitting a track I just have a couple of questions. We're allowed to use the updated version of Noisemaker right? The new envelope feature is very convenient. Is there a rule for/against vocals(not that I'v chosen to add any to my song yet, but I was thinking about it.) Thanks in advance.

should be ok but i'll pm tattie (the admin) about it for confirmation...
edit:yes i've been confirmed it's allowed ..just specify in the notes u used v.2.0 new nevelope feature.
2)vocals are not allowed. (no samples of any nature allowed apart from unedited samples of noisemaker itself)

I haven't, but I'm checking it out now. Haven't had time recently to have a good ol' browse. Thanks!
Some quality tracks uploaded. I feel inferior.

I dont see the 'draw envelope' function offering a huge advantage, especially as there is so little time to go in the comp and therefore anyone looking to use this function is already disadvantaged by the closeness of the deadline. As olikana says tho, be sure to declare the version you used .. so at least we can hear it in action

Had to post a demo in this challange too, just for fun. Hadnt not much time but gave my best
Used TAL-NoiseMaker 2.0 and some effects (hope thats allowed). Some presets making use of the new envelope stuff...
Kick is made with TAL-NoiseMaker and sampled into battery 3, all other channels are played by noisemaker.
Used SPL Vitalizer and the Flux limiter for Masering section. Tracks:
17 instances of TAL-NoiseMaker
5 instances of FabFilter ProQ
2 Flux Compressor
3 Flux Bitter Sweet
2 Tal_Reverb-II
2 SPL Twin Tube instances were used.
3 TAL-Filter-2 (not available yet)
1 Battery 3 for sampled NoiseMaker Kick
Tried to use only a few effect devices.
