I have been noticing that some SF2 files (some of the Phenome factory set of SF2s and some Digital Sound Factory free SF2 presets) that are obviously stereo (volumes of L and right differ in real time) when loaded into sfz appear to be mono (no difference in volume between L and R) when loaded into Phenome. My host is energyXT 1.4. Can anyone else confirm this?

I noticed this too with some soundfonts, but this is something where i dont have any idea, why this is. I have to investigate heregwill wrote:I have been noticing that some SF2 files (some of the Phenome factory set of SF2s and some Digital Sound Factory free SF2 presets) that are obviously stereo (volumes of L and right differ in real time) when loaded into sfz appear to be mono (no difference in volume between L and R) when loaded into Phenome. No, SFZ+ works perfect ... on single-core pc's. The glitches appear on multi-core systems. Seems that cakewalk has no interest in fixing this bug, since it's freeware. Hopefully Phenome becomes a good alternative ... I'll check it out this evening.GeorgeZ wrote:... I've never had anything but issues and glitches with sfz+... am I the only one? Big update!
http://www.prodyon-virtual-gear.com/dow ... e_v1.5.rar
Fixes/Changes in v1.5:
v1.5 Release Notes:
MIDI Learn: If you experience wobbling or strange behaviour
with an automated control while playback, make sure your keyboard
doesn't send aftertouch while doing MIDI-learn!
New Preset loading/saving:
This feature is still under development but working stable
right now. You can save phenome layer-presets everywhere on
your harddisc(s). The full path to used sf2 files is stored
within each preset. *.phe-presets are simple text-files so
you can edit them afterwards (e.g. changing a soundfont).
There's a maximum of 128 preset per folder (browser).
If soundfonts are missing, Phenome will tell you so.
Sometimes the "Save Preset" button "hangs". So you click
somewhere after saving a preset and the dialog requester
pops up again. Simply press "Cancel" or the escape-key then.
To be fixed in next release.
Oh, and avoid saving patches in the "phenome" vst folder itself!
From there my file-exists-routine won't work. Also to be fixed in next release.
Thanks! Enjoy.

I have some bugs to report that occured while testing v1.5 with Reaper 3.7:
1.)
When changing the Multi preset on the top left, the preset name gets distorted when the name is too long, e.g. "(Copy 1) Init Multi 001". Maybe centering the name is not the best solution.
2.)
When changing the Multi from the init patch to the next one and changing back, I get the following error message in Reaper (Phenome is running as a firewalled plugin in a dedicated process):
Program: ...\reaper_host32.exe
File: fopen.c
Line: 54
Expression: *file != _T('\0')
Clicking "ignore" solves the problem, but I am sure Reaper would have crashed if Phenome has not been firewalled. I don't know if this is an error in the Reaper plugin host or in Phenome. Note: this error does only happen after changing the path in the browser window to a new location, e.g. to drive "G".

1.) Changed to align left.
2.) I'm not 100% sure what causes this, but i might have an idea. I just recompiled Phenome and re-uploaded it. Please download it again, and give it a try !

Moving along nicely it appears.
Are the updates always on the first page of this thread or are they always on the KVR page for Phenome ?
(I will edit this post when I am clear as to where it is.)

Next update will make browsing soundfonts more comfortable.
Its just too tedious too click once to open browser, doubleclick to load and THEN audition. In the next version this will be possible with one click
(or key up/down
