for the people who were looking for more patches ->

http://blokmodular.com/patches/

I have collected a few & got permission to share them! :-)

Meanwhile I suggest people really try the latest beta.. v334 is much much nicer than the previous stable version at the moment (and as far as I know, just as stable.. just not as widely tested on VSThosts yet)

I have also made quite a bit of progress on a new branch of Blok -> the EFFECT version!

The effect version is currently only available for Buzz (sortof my testing incrowd), but as soon as the featureset/concepts stabilize I will create the VST version as well.

I have also pretty much decided what will happen with the Early Bird pricing. I agree with the earlier comment that "just blok as it is now" is sortof overpriced. But when the pack includes hundreds of patches -and- the effect version.. It is more than worth it imo. So what I will do is -> all the people who have already bought it will get the full effect version thrown in for free and all spinoffs I'll ever make (this might include a drumkit version, standalone version and/or mac versions). New customers will have the choice between instrument, effect, or bundle. With individual prices being lower than the current 35, and the bundle a bit higher.

here are some small teasers for the effect version:

I think theres a buzz wrapper somewhere in fruity, may have to give that a go :D

Looking good

i doubt that will work.. blok uses the latest buzz api which has a lot of new features... i dont support it at least.

All of the archives at the page you linked are coming up as invalid archives inside Zip Genius .....................

I tracked down some patches over at the wiki (in XML form) and when I try to load the dialog box doesn't recognize... only wants to look for "blok files".

the wiki manual seems to be overflowing with incomplete or never generated pages; If your tatget audience is going to be absolute noobs then you might wanna pay a little love to the manual ...

Basically I'm a mid-level ( OK So I'm probably giving myself to much Cred  !!!!) and am spinning my wheels.....

And after checking out demos ( all eight sounds!!) and patching up some stuff myself I 'm going to have to pass........ If the demo is not going to load any patches then maybe a few more that 8 might help tip the scales for some !

What will the new price be ( page not changes ) for the synth only ???

As it stands I can't go 35 euro ... To much uncertianty with only eight demo sounds and my modest programming ... But it is easy to see the potential ; just not 50 bucks worth of potential .... :D

Very strange about zip-genius.. it is not as genius as it claims to be? Windows explorer opens/unpacks the patch packs just fine. The zips are generated by the default PHP zip-library.

The patch-browsing crowd has not really been my target audience for Blok yet. Just too much to do in terms of testing/optimizing so far. The default bank has suffered a bit because of this :-(

I did update the factory bank just now though (using my folder from the patchlib. 32 sounds) -> If you are still interested you can either grab a new copy of the BETA installer or just download the zipped fxb from the patch library -> http://blokmodular.com/patches/[BLOK]-M ... y-Bank.zip (not generated, zipped myself.. so even Zip-Genius should take it?)

The manual/wiki is incomplete by far, but I'm not yet fully documenting this until it becomes less of a moving target. If you read the earlier posts you will see that writing the manual is 1 of the criteria for moving out of early bird. IMO it is better to have no documentation than documentation that is flat out wrong everywhere. But since the request has popped up, I'll dedicate some time every day to improve it from here on. 25 missing pages to go.. (mostly the individual block descriptions.. there is a lot of useful information already elsewhere in the wiki)

As it stands now, I'm sorry you didnt have a nicer experience.. I do urge you to look back form time to time though because Blok really improves a lot every day.

(BTW - I was not aware the dollar was THAT bad again? 35->50 conversion rate sucks! :-( Go on! Fix your economy!)

I just want to bump this thread as I find Blok very promising.
I tried the demo last night and bought it after 10 min.
I'm having a lot of fun here. :)

Great to hear :-D

I do hope you have been keeping track of the updates?

"stable" build is now up to 336, latest uploaded beta is 340.

I have added the beta for the VST-effect version to the registered-users download area!

A good friend ( http://www.k-u-e-h-n.com ) has been giving me lots of feedback on visuals/clarity, which has resulted in this new look so far (this is all in beta 340):

Currently I'm prototying some manual/help system concepts.. I am leaning towards something like this: http://blokmodular.com/manual/flashmanual.html Global helpmode that will allow you to enter help-overlays on the patch you are currently editing. (no flash ofcourse.. all native stuff. Just easier to mess with concepts this way)

Enjoy the new stuff!

Zephod.

I'll maybe have some time for Blok again after programming factory sounds for a new synth the in last two weeks.

Will BLOK have this feature?
export to vst

Post

No. I don't want to flood the internet even further with synthedit like synths that barely have reason to exist.

The whole power of Blok is that you can always easily edit the sound -and- the structure of the sound. If I'd export that to VST, I'd just be copying the whole of Blok ;-)

So.. no VST export feature.
