Enabling Regedit after recent updates?

Hi,

After studying up on some basic linux and following Ogg's old instructions I managed to snoop around and clean up some bloat on my receptor 2's hard drive. His instructions for enabling regedit seem outdated however as I can't find the /etc/sysconfig/receptor file. Is it just my system or have things changed in recent updates? Can anyone tell me where to look?

I'd like to play around with registry keys and see what I can break/fix.

1.8 surely would be different and the old regedit methods (there are more than one) won't work according to my experience. Where there's a will there's a way though. There are ways to do anything, put on your thinking cap. And let Muse know you won't need any more of the warranty/support you have left, if any. Just saying, since all that sort of thing is at your own risk and they state it pretty clearly - like it or not.
