OK, that monstreous machine is the Krups Bagger 288digging machine, made by German company Krupp. The Bagger 288 was built for the job of removing overburden prior to coal mining. It's the largest riding vehicle in the world.

Now that this information hopefully satisfies your curiousity, let's get back to ACE, you buch of hijackers!

On topic now: :P
ACE is one of the very first (modular) virtual synths that has this almost unprecedented level of quality. And for a very good entry-level price. I love it!
I guess we'll see lot's of presets for it from now on because it's such a rewarding synth. There are now several presets being offered by people and the synth has only very recently been released (still as a Bèta).
The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.

But it just sits there looking so...evil

Sorry Timfonie, but sights like this freak me out :(

OK OK, you win ;), this thread was already lost. ACE treads are popping up like spaghetti from a spaghetti machine anyway.

Krupp Bagger 288 could have been part of the classic War of the Worlds:

it's a huge digging machine - they use them over here to dig coal out of the ground from up on the surface (i.e. without the need for mines because the simply turn everything in a gigantic hole as the coal isn't too deep in)... :-)

If you look at the machine you ca tell its not actually a saw tooth at all, its really a series of scoops. :(

Not kidding!

It came up in the 'recent posts', otherwise I wouldn't have wandered in here.

It did? No matter, cool machine. I want samples of it in operation.

:? Just shows a lack of understanding; we don't need developers like this not including features because of political reasons. But maybe the real reason is that it is difficult to create a good supersaw sound.

Actually, lets make sure ACE doesn't include any Unison, Ensemble, Chorus, Doubling, or a modulated delay, because we must stay away from the devil that is supersaw!!

How needs a supersaw today? Take some "normal" saws, detune them, unisio or STACK(like in Ace) on it, filter lp + reso tweak, eq behind - done. Job off a minute!

And well the magic supersaw - is only a waveform based on also NORMAL saws, horrible all this "supersaw" searching. And in the year 2010, i think every one would prefer a good nice hypersaw patch from the virus, instead of the old trited supersaw...

Sometimes 2 saws and 1 square right designed sounding worlds better than the "supersaw" stuff, and PLEASE don't forget, many many presets in synths which are called supersaw etc - they are also no supersaw's, only normal saws with unision.... -> so if you searching a supersaw, buy a roland jp, done!

And don't speak bad, based on the supersaw-search, on the currently perhaps best softsynth on the market
