Just a quick one... for those who got 10 EUR off the price of ACE with the special coupon code, will we get 59 EUR or 69 EUR taken off the price of Bazille?

I guess I missed something here. I've been checking the U-he forum fairly regularly, and I know Urs has been working on Bazille (I have a demo) and Ace (I have no clue where the demo is).
I haven't seen either of these offered for sale, let alone any discounts.
Could somebody please let me know what is for sale and where?
Thanks.

Well, it's all buried deeply into the Bazille / Berlin Modular thread:

Urs
- people asked for an entry level modular synth based on Berlin Modular that could be had *now* rather than 2010 or 2011
- when I asked if a MS-20 style simple synth would be interesting, the guys sure said yes
- As it would be based on Berlin Modular, that synth could be a newbee or light version of Berlin Modular, hence there would be an upgrade path
- the idea is, anyone who's got ACE will be able to upgrade to Berlin Modular for the exact difference in price
- which is always X - 69€ (VAT included), no matter what promo code was used

Yes.pedrorf wrote:So the Berlin Modular will be a set of synths, one of which is Ace, and another one Bazille, plus a few others eventually, rather than a single monster synth, right?
I was hoping to be able to put them all into a single large plugin though. But this would be something inbetween an instrument and a host I guess because it was supposed to also feature step sequencers and stuff. I'm not sure about that anymore. Maybe separate plugs are way to go.
The main reason to put, say, 8 plugins into one was to provide for the creation of drum kits, but then, looking at the efforts of others, I'm not so sure if it's that great of an idea... such a system would lend itself merely towards multi layer sounds - which would definately fry cpus and somewhat defeat the purpose.
Hmmm.
Anyhow, Berlin Modular - if ever finished - is supposed to consist of at least
- Bazille
- ACE XL (roughly twice the modules)
- a Virtual Analogue modular (think SuperSaw etc.)
- maybe a rompler/sample mangler, but that's rather uncertain
Who knows, maybe there'll be an even smaller version of ACE (only 1 of each), but with 8 mono synths. That way one can build 8 different sounds and map them over the keyboard or something.

ah... you mentioned the one thing I wished ACE had.....an arpeggiator/step sequencer.

never mind, just saw this:

hopefully even I can understand how to use it for that purpose.

Thnaks for info. I really like this numerology -- 69 is one of the most enjoyable numbers i ever tried. (Pun Intended)Urs wrote:Well, it's all buried deeply into the Bazille / Berlin Modular thread:
So ACE is basically some part with in a gigantic conspiracy plot to lure innocent users into a bigger frame of modular madness. And, if things pan out as expected, there's a lot of modular madness to come!

Urs
Seems like I'll grab on of spagettis soon.
Actually, URS, do you accept any opinions/ideas on what to chnage?

Sure, hehe, if it doesn't break compatibility or require a rewrite... history has shown though that I sometimes need 3-4 years to incorporate wishes...david.beholder wrote:Actually, URS, do you accept any opinions/ideas on what to chnage?

While we're on suggestions, I'd dearly love it if all selector buttons behaved as a drop down if they have more than 2 options (stepping through the quality settings or Oscillator settings is a real pain).Urs wrote:Sure, hehe, if it doesn't break compatibility or require a rewrite... history has shown though that I sometimes need 3-4 years to incorporate wishes...david.beholder wrote:Actually, URS, do you accept any opinions/ideas on what to chnage?

That way they would behave more like the Stack or Pitch Bend range buttons.
Many thanks
