@loachm:
Wavetable (ppg like) is quite difficult to achieve, and never sounds like you imagine the way it should sound.
Subtractive morphing - which is to say shifting of harmonic spectra - is easier to accomplish and actually genuinely sounds far better and smoother.
ppg morphing can be improved considerably by implementing many many oscs for oversampling (what I think you mean) but only at the cost of extreme cpu load. Unfortunately there are no real short cuts at present unless someone who has a solid grounding in both sound design and designing a specific algorithm to do it does it.
I have the first requirement but not the latter.
Even with that masterpiece of design, Synthmaker, trying to come up with something that sort of sounds like it simply doesn't work, though I welcome you to have a go.
Be thankful for this synth and what it does, how well it does it, and do not pine over what it cannot do, because at the moment nothing else can either (okay the Deep Thought computer over at Princeton U can, but we're really getting into 256bit territory here.)
As a side note, Deep Thought is also capable of calculating the reflections of

I'm biased, as I really like Linplug stuff, but this is clearly an example of less being more... it has impressed me more than anything I've listened to lately... and has me wondering what can be done in the future, when people start programming for it. Yayy Linplug!

Thanks guys, indeed that was the very idea ...as ozmoz2008 wrote

Sure some people will miss (and have said) the features found in an Albino, but thats not what we wanted, clean, lean and a different sound. I already got a reviewer saying the filters are not up to Albinos' filters, ehrm... I mean we intentionally made a new, different characteristic filter. Some people will find the one better, some the other, but the point is having different sound at all.
I also read some people saying MorphoX offers nothing new in terms of sound, well, this might be the case when you are not in electronic music (for me - I'm german - all chinese people look the same) --- you know what i mean. Anyway, as usual, this is no synth for everybody, it does not have to be, I'm happy about the sales so far and I'm more happy about feedback from people who appreciate the MorphoX concept.
Dont get me wrong, critic feedback is appreciated, I just wanted to make clear the concept

So it is possible to get the INIT patch to use in the Demo?

Sure, just mail me please, we wont include it in the demo.

I think that the concept and execution are quite good. I like the fact tat there is essentially one page of controls that are very readable and usable. There is the classic "back panel" that has a few settings, but unless you are doing something really unusual they are "set and forget" and other than typing in the serial number, I would guess most of us will just use the default settings.
I think that we are seeing software synthesizer designs that are stepping away from huge multi-paned workstations and going towards simpler designs with great sound and highly functional GUIs.
Of course, one can always imagine all sorts of additional features, but I don't think that there is room for anything else on the GUI as it is. A second page would have to be added. The most obvious improvements to me would be to add some global LFOs and loopable multi-segmented envelopes to control/automate the morphing. Sure you can draw or record mod wheel movement, but having something easily repeatable/transferrable in a preset would be good. Also AFAIK Live doesn't seem to have an automation LFO or envelope that is not in the form of a drawn or recorded control signal (though I think that Reaper does have this feature with its parameter automation features).

Thanks I sent you an e-mail through KVR.Peter from LinPlug wrote:Sure, just mail me please, we wont include it in the demo.
Out of curiosity why not include it in the Demo? One of the most important things for me when trying a demo is how much fun it will be to create my own patches and I can't be alone in thinking that way. I think every demo should have a blank patch as a starting point and as you know MorphoX is actually two patches in one so it's much easier to start with both blank.
EDIT: Thanks Peter I got the INIT patch but Outlook Express blocked access to it......guess it didn't recognize the .fxp file extension..........some days I just can't win.

...I never talked about wavetable synthesis. I just mentioned that it would be nice being able to modulate the "Wave" knob in the mod matrix - that's all. It's a feature that has been requested by Albino users some years ago. Peter mentioned that it's not quite easy to implement and also referred to a very high CPU load. Because CPUs have improved since then and due to the fact that there is no significant increase of the CPU load when you turn the "Wave" knob while playing, I thought it might worth mentioning it - but thanks for your elaborate instruction...
...now go to the people in the white coats - they just want to be nice to you...
@Peter: I'm not complaining that it's not like Albino. I have noticed that the synth is called MorphoX and not Albino 4. And I actually like that fresh start - a simple easy-to-use synth with balls. It's a really good concept brilliantly executed...

Small bug? :
I have small problem with presets in FL. If I duplicate Morphox, the preset is only showing -- -- . If I load new morphox, it shows only demo presets in sound gategory (so bass, lead etc are missing) unless I first select one demopreset. After I click one demo preset it will show all sounds gategories.

Ye, thank you. This will be fixed in 1.0.1 (probably released in 1..2 weeks)Mac Hine wrote:Small bug? :

Because it seems to disturb some people (no kidding), and because most people don't do presets from scratch. Think of the demo as coming with 70 different init patches insteadTeksonik wrote: Out of curiosity why not include it in the Demo?
