I spent, over the past 2 months, about $2,750 on stuff for the studio. I "promised" myself that I would stop buying stuff---then my studio monitors went POOF!!
Sometimes I think the equipment gangs up on me wallet----
See, that's exactly that kind of situations I was thinking about when I said in my previous post that for musicians and studio owners to buy new gear is almost as certain as death and taxes!trimph1 wrote:Megh--

I'm too eclectic. I need to be pick a f**king genre for a month at a time and really work on it.....
I got rock, I got jazz, I got experimental, I got weird, I've got electronic.......
I've got all the f**king toys.......and I do work on stuff but I always feel I'm still learning everything and not finishing stuff.......round and round I go......"hi I'm hibidy, gear HO!"
That is your mid-life crisis sorted then and more fun than a sports carduncanparsons wrote:hmmm.. well, in the last 6 weeks I've bought a PRS guitar, a Yamaha 4 string bass, a 6 string fretless bass, a 12 piece dual brain edrum kit and a rare Jen Piano; not to mention enough mics to record a 7 piece acoustic drumkit, a couple of decent large diaphragm condensers & a few dynamics, with stands & leads for all of them.
I promise that I will not buy any more gear
tomorrow.

Cram as much gear into your last year as a youth. Next year's birthday make the solemn oath on your mascot/familiar/lucky amulet that the time of acquisition is over, and it's time for some serious solitary fun.duncanparsons wrote:hmmm... well, I was 39 on Monday...

What about Parmeson, Ache and Llama's fold out cover?NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:Yeah the big alien spine thing? Gieger designed the art for the alien films amongst other stuffAll the 'Cyber Mech' style tattoo is based around his art also. The only bands that i can think of who have used his work for album art of the top of my head are 'Carcass' on 'Heartwork' and 'Celtic Frost' on 'Monothiest'. Ibanez also did some limited edition models with Geiger's art work on them, of which i did own the RG model (which i sold due to it being heavy and getting more than i paid for it!). He is a total legend but also (of course) an oddball for sure!
