Looks almost like a must have to me...
But am I the only one who is reminded of this when looking at the GUI:

Personally I don't need 3D GUIs, but I think if you decide to use them you should take care to do it properly - this one is competition for Polyana.

To the contrary, ElectraX is very easy to use.penguinfromdeep wrote:Looks overly complicated for me
But I should really shut up now. I lost my internet for two days, and just got it back again, so this explains my over the top posting in this thread. I think I was starved of being online.

I think I had a similar reaction, I find it aesthetically appealing but not necessarily productive. However, the web site says it comes with a variety of skins, and at least one of them looked a lot less pixel-intensive and usable to me.jens wrote:But am I the only one who is reminded of this when looking at the GUI:

So people are complaining because it has too many features?

Yeah, not everybody likes or needs all the bells and whistles, it can be distracting. And it makes you wonder why you need to cram all of that in, why not concentrate on just making the best sound there is instead of trying to do everything but not really going deep into anything .. Hehe, of course I don't say it's the case here

The internet wouldn't be the internet if people weren't complainingTeksonik wrote:So people are complaining because it has too many features?

I don't think anyone's complaining, feature set looks perfect. There's a tendecny lately for synths to basically have multiple full synths in one via different parts/layers. Just a discussion on the usefulness of that. Same can be seen in things like Omnisphere, Largo, Albino. Many of us don't care about multiple layers, but so do, so the conclusion is of course: Good to include for people who like it!
Someone doing sound design must know something about the sample loading feature: Is it either vocoder/resynthesis of samples? Or can you load the sample just as a sample? Can it pitch without the length changing (ie. timestretch?) or any kind of granular like functionality?

Guys don't be fooled by the first impression. As I've seen the GUI the first time I was a bit confused, then it took me 5 minutes to understand the workflow and start programming sounds. It can produce incredible complicated sounds and realtime performances (when you start layering things using the arpegiatiors) but it's one of the most simple synths to program and understand.exh wrote:I think I had a similar reaction, I find it aesthetically appealing but not necessarily productive.jens wrote:But am I the only one who is reminded of this when looking at the GUI:

No doubt the easiest knobs to work with is modern stuff like Zebra, hardware looking knobs with a small notch (esp on black) is nice for the demo pic, but not to work with..jens wrote:Personally I don't need 3D GUIs, but I think if you decide to use them you should take care to do it properly - this one is competition for Polyana.
