I initialize Sylenth.
Turn on 1 OSC
With Routing of: XmodMisc1A det1Am (Source Velocty Destination Volume) at 10.00 (100%)
I can't figure out how to control the volume of the notes being played with the velocity of the piano roll. This seems pretty straight forward and it's not working for some reason. What am I doing wrong?
at velocity 1 notes play only slightly lower than at velocity 127...

The modulation in Sylenth1 is always additive. If you modulate the oscillator volume with amount 10, this means that the volume will modulate from the current setting to current setting +10.
So if you want to modulate the volume with velocity between 0 and 10, then you have to set the osc volume knob to 0 and modulate it with +10.
Usually you'll want to be modulating Mix AB by the way, not Volume AB, because Volume AB is the volume level of the oscillator before the filter, while Mix AB is after. Just set the Mix A and B sliders to 0 if you do so.
