I've bought a few items through Waves Universe. The customer support was excellent, and so were their prices. IIRC, I paid less than $200 to upgrade Waves 3 Gold to version 6 and later I also got version 7 free of charge. I got lucky with the timing

Watch with the NARAS discount, they don't allow license transfers on those.

It's only a little less than the October Waves sales (40% off list + dealer discount).. and there's no restrictions on those licenses.

They also have a 55% discount during October, without the NARAS requirement. Is that the one you're referring to?

But that won't be out till around March, I think they said that on their website anyway. Also, it will probably be like $200 or more, something like that.

To the regulars, can we not post specials for Independence? Every time I see a "Special" for it I feel weak and sick. Having purchased a number of their products and instruments and finding it so unreliable like many, many other people, I don't think it is a good idea to promote.

Would you sell someone a car if you knew it was potentially harmful to the user? The only thing I would like to see is an Independence sample player. Unfortunately I started using Independence on EnergyXT (which it authorised under) and now I can't use it under my main DAW (Reaper).

If anyone is interested in Independence I think it would be better to tell them to save up for Kontakt, purely on the basis of reliability and support. Then when you consider the number of other supported instruments, etc... it just gets better.

I respect where you're coming from. Looks like some people have been seriously burnt this year.

Other people have nothing but good to report in their YT experience. I personally don't plan to give them any money unless they change their behavior radically.

whenever they post a YT deal. This really is starting to feel like a scam that's being perpetrated, not just poor support. They're selling too aggressively. In a sick way, I'm actually kinda interested in seeing how long they can spin this out...

Also, whenever such a deal is posted, somebody here (including me, I suspect) will likely chime in with a warning, so it's not like people will be walking in with their eyes closed.
