Huh? No saturation used?

Very cool! Sounds like you were channelling Hendrix. 8)

And the patches were???
When all else fails, read the instruction manual.

Really nice "fingered wankery," and even more impressive programming! I think you and justin3AM have demonstrated some superlatively dirty Zebra. Congratulations to you both.

Not my best song, but some serious grit I think:

(also features an instance of Runciter on the bass though, but the rest is all Zebra)

I think though that an XMF is urgently needed in the FX-grid. That would do a lot ;)

These are too clean or nice in your opinion?
If so...please post your grittiest Vaz patch mp3, so I can see exactly what your trying to describe with very generalized words, and proceed to copy exactly whatever sound you put forth.
Just some fingered wankery will do. Not some sequenced thing or something with external fx.
My examples only used internal eq, comp, and slight reverb.

btw, I tried the Vaz demo, and heard all the mp3 demos.
Sorry but I have yet to hear the raunch and grit you speak of.
I heard a lot of arpeggiator supersaw trance things, and the demo sounded a little thin in the mids imo.
I like these. Do you have any dirty patch bank available anywhere? I feel like maybe I've downloaded some of your patches before and was impressed.

No problem :) Hope you don't mind me firing these ideas off, as they occur to me.

It's really going to happen? :o :-o :help:

8) That's cool if it is. :P

From my own, not yet released Zebra bank of presets.

Thin in the mids? I never think that. I do like your examples but I'd never call the first to "raunchy." Dirty, over-driven, yes, but not raunchy. The third one does make me eat my words though, that's pretty damn raunchy. I'll see about creating a few raunchy tones using Vaz but not tonight as I'm picking the miss's up from the airport and that always takes forever.

Also, I probably wouldn't even call Vaz my go-to for raunch but I was trying to stay in the modular family. Frankly I'd turn to my MoPho or ATC-1 first. Maybe go to Olga. I remember getting some raunch out of KLC's MS20 and Sawer too.

This isn't meant to be a cut down either. Just a general observation. If I admitted Zebra was perfect in every way how could I justify my ridiculous VST collection?

Okay thanks.
I was just hoping to get some examples to go with the words, so I can see what direction I could go with to recreate the descriptions. Posting one would be good. Even with Olga or the others would do.
Guess I just like the challenge of trying to get the sounds from Zebra, that are said by many, "can't be done".

I mean raunchy to me, was my telecaster into a rat box, then into a mosfet amp, with my 4x-10" marshall cabinet, but after all I think overdriven, dirty would describe that best.

No. 2 of them use internal compressor, eq, and low feedback set reverb.
The other one only uses internal reverb.
These, plus another 125+ presets will be available once they are all finished.

That song sounds great imo.
The gritty part works for me too.

I do get confused with the words used in defining certain sounds.
As in those saying "Zebra can't do (adjective)".
Without putting up sound examples.
It makes their point weak, and quite invalid imo.
