As example i saw this one from DSK
* With DSK Overture you can play full 4 layer sounds, or 4 differents instruments
in the same instance (trough midi channel selector).

This vsti is multitimbral with 4 sounds on each on midi channel
There are some vsti with 16 midichannels ..

And ofcourse it make senses, but it is not the same as a midichannel to use the DSK synth in the form of two instances if you want have two layered sounds on audio output 1 and on two layered sounds on audiooutput 2.
It is the replacement for no having midi channels for it
Suppose you want to have a string and violin together
On one audiochannel you put the string silent and on the other second audiochannel you put the violin silent, than you can mix them

I just download this vsti -88 MB

empty..no sound from Overture at the moment, because i am doing something with my old backup computer..overload ...
Stupid computerstore sold me a motherboard without checking if the processor was supported, i am waiting on it.
I took now the chance to exchance the motherboard for a newer model and that takes time.
With a new quad core there is enough power
I am still waiting to get a normal computer again, so doing a test with my old athlon 2800 xp( after that i used a dualcore 3800 + for some years, but ruined it unfortanely) in Mulab with Overture, but it seems that you can choose a midi channelnumber( focus on the track !) in Mulab and than you can add a patternblock with notes..it works when i try to record something

But the overload is misleading here

i think we have exhausted our options here...
