9 object layers in Knobman, 40 min work :D
No perspectives though, or at least they are all very arbitrary and sorta isometric.

Hey my first Knobman knob. It was almost too easy. I only briefly looked at Knobman before today. This was done in no time.

It's supposed to look like the 8 lower knobs on this here remote:

If you read the thread from the start you will find many examples where you can download the .knob source file pure or as zip. For some shown examples the source files are not made public due to the amount of work in them....

thanks for the reply.

i also notice some of the before and after illustrations of knob state are hard to save. If i "save target as", it seems to only save the png of the opening state. is there a workaround for that so I could save the two states seperately?

?????
For example the first knob pic here:

Right mouseclick, save target as, 'WOK_Enventide_Button.knob' in the knobman examples folder.
Opening this in Knobman you have everything and you can export this. Read the manual for knobman on the authors website.

Thanks again,

Perhaps I should be clearer about how I am intending to utilize knobman/skinman. I am hoping to pair the software with the Touchbuddy Toolkit software which would enable me to create skins and buttons for touchscreen interfaces.

The touchbuddy toolkit requires only 2 states of a completed button in jpeg or png/bmp format. The Before and after states. Knobman allows me to create buttons very quickly but I am scratching my head at how to export the before and after states seperately for import into touchbuddy.

Skinman is a godsend for the creation of background imaging in Touchbuddy.

I appreciate the help you are offering. I see great potential in bringing the two softwares together.

You just set the number of frames to 2 in the preferences and set the export to seperate images.

thank you - you are fantastic. i appreciate teh help, things are moving along well now.

I have one last question, how do i preserve the alpha channel/transperancies around the knobs during the seperate image exports? It always wants me to choose a color which limits my placements on background skins.

regards,
Kirk

When exporting the image use a either .PNG (with Alpha) or .TGA (with Alpha) as your fileformat. You choose that from a dropdown menu in the export window.

Having a problem with the new skinman. One instance it saved 2 projects together eg, open up project 1 and all the project 2 stuff was in it. Weird. I opened up my project today, and there were a couple of things missing, a couple of squares and some lines... They do show up with only a little icon in the one window, but are nowhere to be found:

Has happened a couple times soo far... on winxp. Been using skinman for a long time, never had a problem.

hello,
sorry for the trouble.

let me confirm:
* you used 2 instance of SkinMan at the same time, proj1 and proj2.
* next, save each proj1 and proj2.
* after that, proj2 objects are merged to proj1.
* in addition, some objects are missing.
is it right?

could you send me the skin file?
i would like to investigate.
