Ivory II Installation

I've ordered the Ivory II Grands and Italian Grand II updates (should receive them early next week). The Plugorama installer says for (Grands, Italian, and Upright). The related install pdf just talks about installing the Grands.
Does the current installer cover all three products? Or do I need to wait for an additional installer for Italian Grand II? If the current installer also covers Italian grand II, I assume I need to use the same procedure of removing the older IG libraries that's discussed for the Grands?
Is there any reason to keep the older samples on the Receptor hard drive? I assume that I can eventually dispose of them to clear HD space?
Finally, anyone had a chance to install this yet? Thanks - Tom

I have the update for the grands installed and it is working well. It runs smoothly with all features engaged, and it is a nice upgrade, especially the touch response of the C7 .TWB121234 wrote:I've ordered the Ivory II Grands and Italian Grand II updates (should receive them early next week). You do not need to keep the library items that you replace.
As to whether or not the installer will work on Italian grand, I don't know. I was told that it would not, but plugorama does seem to indicate that it will.
I would suggest -barring a definitive answer- getting the grands going first, then trying to replace the Italian library items (without discarding!) and see if it works. If not, switch back.

Thanks Phil,
I'm hoping someone from Muse will chime in before arrival (Monday?). If not, your suggestion(s) are greatly appreciated and sound like a course of action

While I have not personally tried load ing Italian Grand II, my guess is the current installer should work. The Ivory 1.7 installer was fairly flexible because the guys at synthogy had created Ivory 1.7 open ended enough so that you could buy any one of their 3 products and use it, without requiring the original Grand Pianos. I don't think it'll be any different in this case unless perhaps a software update was released by synthogy along with the Italian Grand. Either way, my prediction is that it'll work if you copy the library files over to 'Ivory Items' on Receptor (in the same manner as you would with Italian Grand). Please note that any duplicates of the version 1 files need to be deleted in order to run this correctly. Also remember to run the Ivory library tools before you try the new pianos out. If you run into problems feel free to open a support ticket in the help desk

The upgrades arrived on Tuesday. It took me all week to install - finally finishing this morning. Unfortunately, I had four corrupted files on the Grands DVDs. I'm still waiting for one Bosendorfer file to be posted online for me to download and be able to finish installing that library. I am a bit disappointed that it's taken most of the week.
Anyway, the good news is that Italian Grand also works with the Muse installer. I just copied the library - same as with the Grands (also the presets, as I don't think they were in the Muse installer). All the new pianos sound great and are really fun to play. There seems to be some added "depth" to the samples. I haven't had much time to actually play with them yet.
As the Muse installer works with Italian Grand I'm sure it would also work with the Uprights. Everything is working great (except the Bosie for now).
Thanks for all the help -
Tom

I am unable to install the Italian grands.
Everything is loaded onto the Receptor, but the Ivory Tools will not verify the Italian II samples and is suggesting I run a newer version of the program.

I recall doing the "fast" verification, but don't recall if I did the "slow" verification with the Italian grands. Anyway, I did not receive that message and all the new pianos are working fine (finally got the last Bosendorfer file). I'm sure you have probably done/checked/tried the usual stuff: removed the old IG samples from the Ivory items folder, run the Receptor utility, triple click holding the multi button, registering and getting the ilok license for IG. I really wish I could be more helpful as you have helped me out many times in the past. But I just put the new samples in the same Ivory items folder as the others, plus copied over the effects, presets, and the file named "older presets"? (if I recall the name correctly). This has been working for me. Good luck.

A few other general Ivory tips that may help you:
* Confirming the full file sizes have been transfered over (ex: on Receptor it says Italian II file is 4 GB while on the Ivory CD it is 10Gb). Needs to be re-copied in this case.
* Confirm you have Run the .rpm installer for Ivory II in plugorama correctly (so that the interface that comes up in edit mode lists it as Ivory II)
* Make sure you run the Convert process on the library

Well, I've been using Ivory Grand (3 grands) version II with Italian I and Uprights I, so I assume it would work fine in your case.

Ivory II is compatible ONLY with Receptor 2 Rev. E/Rev. F hardware.
