I love my NanoKey, wouldn't be without it, but you've gotta accept it for what it is! They're like big laptop keys really, but the touch sensitivity works better than you'd expect. I wish they'd found a way to have a proper variable modwheel - just an on-off button is very frustrating.
But the point is - there's nothing else on the market that can just slip into my bag with my laptop and all my other junk, meaning I can compose anywhere (I've no shame - I use it on the commuter trains on my lap all the time!). Nothing else is this small, thin and useable, so I take it's limitations happily!

They are artists, not specific patches on tracks!lockon stratos wrote:What, those don't count?

For me, Korg = early Kitaro (the "good" stuff).
I enjoy most of his music up to the album "Tenku." After that, he's all overly-sappy orchestral rubbish. What a shame...
"Silk Road," "Oasis," "Ki," & "Tunhuang" are "synth classics" to me -- all whimsical, melancholic, pseudo-cosmic joyrides.

Just bought the M1. Damn you Korg and your irresistible offer!

Also, a question. I have Xphraze. Do you think that the Wavestation offers anything different? They seem quite similar to me as far as functionalilty goes.

I've heard the M1 piano is used on many records... not sure of any specifics.

not to mention the Icon iKey... the Nanokey is an appalling piece of junk. My first key broke off after two weeks of use, and no, I didn't bash it against my amplifier.Mushy Mushy wrote:Er, what about the Akai LPK25 and LPD8????noiseboyuk wrote:But the point is - there's nothing else on the market that can just slip into my bag with my laptop and all my other junk, meaning I can compose anywhere (I've no shame - I use it on the commuter trains on my lap all the time!). I got one of these. I think the keys are much nicer. There's no mod wheel on it either. It's about the same price most places.

The Akais are both HUGE by comparison! The nanokey is much, much thinner. Only game in town for me, flaws an all...

They're the same size!!!! The LPD8 is exactly the same size - it fits into my Korg case. The LPK25 is slightly and i mean slightly bigger, perhaps 5mm longer and 5mm higher.noiseboyuk wrote:Those are both HUGE by comparison! The nanokey is much, much thinner.
