They're the same size!!!! The LPD8 is exactly the same size - it fits into my Korg case. The LPK25 is slightly and i mean slightly bigger, perhaps 5mm longer and 5mm higher.

The 8 doesn't have a keyboard, does it? The 25 is about 4cm to the nanokey's 1.5cm.

Ok you're right, just

Akai: 400 x 110 x 49 mm
Korg: 320(W) x 83(D) x 14(H) mm

But dude seriously.... We're talking tiny tiny differences here, apart from height - but thats the least inconvenient dimension.

Not in my rucksack it isn't! What with the harddrives and gawd knows what else in there... the nanokey slips in the same pocket as the laptop cos its so thin.

for the life of me I haven't been able to find demos anywhere on Korg's site

Not as small as nanoKey, but it does have 3 octaves of keys, mod and pitch wheels.
Looks like another great small controller!!!

There's also Akai MPKmini, and LPK25 which compete with Korg nano and micro range of controllers.

Maybe some of you can help me. Can you buy a copy of ms-20 vsti and use it with the ms-20 controller, bought from another person? or are software and controller linked to a same license or something?thx

I'm asking because there is no demo and no good video's anywhere, so how will I know if I'll use it if I don't know the sounds.

It may not help you in your purchase decision, but pretty much the whole UK House scene was built on the piano sound from Korg M1.

I just really hope they update the MS-20 interface at some point. Having to scroll in that tiny window in ridiculous. They don't even have a full window view. They could easily fit the whole thing in a slightly bigger window. The ipad MS-20 now has a better interface than the computer version now. I can't stand to use it without the MS-20 controller. But of course then it's really fun.

Er, what about the Akai LPK25 and LPD8????
not to mention the Icon iKey... the Nanokey is an appalling piece of junk. My first key broke off after two weeks of use, and no, I didn't bash it against my amplifier.

Yeah, the nanokey is garbage. Mine broke a key within the first 3 weeks as well and I handled it with care! Very stupid design. Once the key fell off you could see the metal hinge that is attached with a very thin piece of molded plastic. Horrible horrible design.

I returned it to the shop I bought it from and they said that over half the sold nanokeys were returned and that they would complain with the importer and demand a refund, never to sell another korg nano product again.

Horrible horrible things.. the AKAI LPK25 seems MUCH better in quality and actually usable.

Now.. the question is, can I use my Korg padKONTROL creative kontrol pack vol 3, which includes the M1 Le version, for the 99$ upgrade? Anybody know?

Yeah the korg logic for registering is very stupid. I ran into the same problem, though I do have a product but it's not here with me at the moment..

Sigh, sometimes the big japanese companies just don't "get it". A horrible mess.

Sony, Roland, Korg, heck even Yamaha have some stupid illogical things with their products and services.. and don't get me started on japanese cars (usually awesome build quality and good overall products but man, some incredibly stupid design flaws there as well)

As I understand it: if you've got a registered version of the M1 Le, you qualify for the 99$ upgrade - doesn't matter if it came with the pad or the key.
