If the Legacy Cell is available separately, I'd recommend anyone to test it :)

In the Legacy Cell you can combine two Ms-20 or two Polysix, or one of both, together with up to 6 Mde-x units, wich can be used on inserts or as aux bus.

So I think you get access to the MS-20 + The Polysix + The Mde-x, all of wich can load 3rd party soundbanks + a neat GUI where you have several macros controllers available.

Believe me this combination just rocks :))

Btw along with our soundbanks for the Ms-20, Polysix or Monopoly ( aroud 800 presets for the whole Korg Collection ) we have a free bank for the Mde-x on our site.

I'm wondering if its not the right time to make a little promo for our Korg Analog Edition soundbanks :) ?

Its not, by the look of things. It does have an updated version though, for previous bundle owners, and the download page states "LegacyCell requires MS-20, Polysix and MDE-X"

Thanks for the info :tu:

so its probably available on your account if you buy the three instruments separately. Clever marketing . Well its well worth buying the Polysix only for this if someone plans to buy the two others-imho-

Polysix is the most underrated synth btw. Shiny filters are very neat envelopes.( and the gorgeous ensemble Fx)

+ Edit to anybody reading this : please dont buy our Korg banks now, you might want to wait for our eventual Special Promo Sales period ( I put a poll in the instrument forum :) ( Makes me weird to advise people people not to buy our banks  )

Are demo's available for these? cant seem to find anything about demos on there site

Thanks for posting the link to that pic. It's quite clear in that shot.

For whatever reason, he must still like having that board as a controller. He had it set up that way in the making of/rehearsal video as well. But I don't doubt that he used it fully at one time!

In the making of portion you can see a bunch of racked stuff as well. I don't remember now if maybe there was a WS in there somewhere. Or... actually, I think he may have had a Receptor? I can't fire up that video right now to have another look.

Who knows... maybe he was using the hardware WS to control the Legacy WS soft!

I find myself using the Legacy version more often now because it's just more convenient. But I'm planning on keeping my hardware one as well. I've had that thing from around 1990 or so!!! I had one of the first ones to come into my local shop - was on the waiting list for a while. :)

[The only thing I regret is not upgrading it to EX status when those upgrades were originally going for $50.]

Danm, I never noticed that. You are right, of course. Only the footswich and two midi ports are used. Found a picture and it is quite obvious there: http://en.academic.ru/pictures/enwiki/66/Banks.jpg

Well, I guess this kind of makes the whole Genesis thing off topic. But, hey, Tony Banks OWNS a Wavestation. That's something too, right?

The Legacy Cell is fantastic and really raises the Polysix and MS combined components to a whole new level. Originally, it was a bit of a cpu hog to have everything running and the coolness came at a price. But on a modern machine (even a duo) it should not be an issue.

As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, the Polysix and MS components (separately) might be kind of blah. But combined within the Legacy Cell you can get some cool sounds.

I would say most definitely go for the Legacy Cell.

I wouldn't waste your time on the MS 20 or PolySix......they have been done to death but some Wavestation or M1 patches would be welcome. :D
Butbutbutbutbut.... the MS-20 is a blast to play with. Ah well, I'll just do a small bank for it as an exclusive gift for customers as a free-with-purchase kind of thing. :)

As for the M1 and Wavestation...oh hell yeah! Been planning to do that for years but haven't quite gotten around to it yet.

Great job! I searched so long time for the legacy collection in the market, contacted a lot of suppliers without result. And now it is avaible for download on a very fair price. Now...I have it!
Many thanks for posting here!

Wavestation is beautiful!

Just got my head around the interface and it's going well, low on the CPU too. Love the pads / atmos you can get out of it with some tweaks. Definitely a thing to add :wheee:

Post

The Wavestations sound is indeed beautiful! But in the M1 module have have also programs, performances. Perhaps I didn't found until now these functions within the Wavestation.

This is a permanant thing from Korg yeah ? Not just an offer ? My dream come true to get the M1 if so :)

I think the problem with the Wavestation, in first place, is that is build after the original interface? At least it has this micro menu touch to it. But you can go in there and really tweak each sounds, make layers, add filters, envelopes, effects. Build-in effects actually are quite nice to my ears. Some minutes working with the interface and you know how it works :)

Post

@emotica: do you already now how to make own library with "Best of sounds" in the Wavestation? In the M1 module I can place/copy the best sounds in the usr banks within the M1 module.

There are TONS of M1 sysex banks floating around the net. KLCD reads them all.
