Yes, but not anymore. I was about to buy one here in Spain, but the seller had second thoughts and didn't sell it eventually. I'd like to have one, but not easy as I say.

It will. The controller is completely independent of the software, separate drivers and all, always has been.
Confirmed to work in XP / XP64, don't know about Vista / 7 drivers myself.

Any Omnisphere users out there that can comment on a companion? I got sucked into the SampleTank group buy- but honestly don't like the sound quality. I am toying with the idea of pickingup the M1 since I assume the Wavestation would be redundant with my Omni- any thoughts. I also have the LE edition that came with my NanoKey (what a piece of junk- lost both a white key and one of the mod keys with normaly playing). I know I can upgrade for $99 and get everythying- but if the M1 suits me fine- then why bother (I don't have any bread and butter synths in my collectino beyond what I have with Komplete and Spectrasonics and Logic)- thus M1 is interesting.

Wavestation is in no way redundant against Omni.

don't even know how to answer the comparison.... I don't think it is a fair comparison.. omnisphere is a 21st century top of the line software synth....whilst wavestation is a conversation of a hardware synth that was top of the line over 20 years ago (damn)....that said, I have omnisphere and there are some things that I still use my wavestation for. Firstly it is much much lighter in resource use...and it is just another flavour... for me especially bell type sounds it is still superb at doing.
my 2 cents.

I just spend some time listening to demos at www.synthmania.com (great site to hear individual preset samples btw). So I am thinking the M1 is actually a decent addition (and might suit me for some basic live sounds to play with a full band). But hearing the wavestation support is getting me to think now as well- darn it! If I do both then I may as well just do the LE upgrade path. Anyone use these with Mainstage as the front end- as this is how I will use it for live use. Thanks for the comments- and no- it can't be a fair comparison- and look at my signature- i really shouldn't need anything else but.......

I don't know why I'm so excited with the M1. The sounds are positively archaic, but the CPU drain is so small and the applications endless. I would never use an M1 trumpet or e-piano (or anything, really) as a reasonable facsimile of a real instrument, but I'm sure that I'll find other uses for it.

Cool stuff.

Click on the interface and drag it back and forth instead of using the scroll bar heaps easier :)

To me it represents the sounds of an era. Very nostalgic and has it's own character. I agree you wouldn't want to use any of the samples as real instruments given the quality of today's content but it still has charm. I've been going through the M1 sampleset today and can't help lusting after a more modern version with better quality samples. Wouldn't have the same charm but would be interesting in my opinion.....

...on the other hand it's very interesting to mangle the f*ck of M1 sounds!

The drums...yes?

The MonoPoly is the best one imo.
It's much easier and more flexible to program than any of the digital ones.
The sounds are better than any of the other Korg synths there.

The M1 does have good organs, choirs, and drums though.
The clavinet can be adjusted to sound pretty funky also.

that's what I was thinking: build some layers, FSU, touch of filter slap it in the oven; Voila some fresh baked shiz for 2010. :phones:
