Cheers, I have demo'd it in the past and the UI put me off, may get it! I sold my Arturia's Prophet V/Jupiter 8V, But I do own and love OP-X Pro II, Minimonsta, ACE, Alchemy & Subboombass, but seems to be something about the MS20 emulation that I like, especially for old school Electro sounds(thinking John Robie/Arthur Baker/Hashim etc here), the darker sounds! Seems ideal for Rez Basses, I'd love to find a controller for it too if I bought it!

try the demo versions
Where are the demos? I have been looking all over for them!?!?

ok I saw your post and trying to register but I cannot get past the darn screen where it tells me to enter a product. Am I registering in the wrong place?

ok no I know... you have to go through and press buy twice then register. So "easy" lol

As for posting in the instruments forum, I'm not the only one that does that. If you don't like those posts, don't read read them. We're all just doing what we need to do to make it in this business.
For the record, I don't mind sound designers strutting their stuff on this forum at all - and I think most people around here share that view. It's nice to be informed, after all.
I wouldn't dignify lame-ass comments like Mr.Tarded's with replies - there's always the bute mutton. ;)

Damn, I just dignified his comment with a reply!

Are all these demo's a one month uncrippled try-out?

If so can I install then authorise if I want to keep it, or is it a seperate download for the non-demo?

Post

Am I reading this right? If I buy Digital Collection and register it now I get the whole package for a free upgrade?

Just press the "buy" button, then enter some jibberish, then press the buy button again, and you'll be taken to the dl page.
It was mentioned a few pages back in the thread.

No.
There is no more digital collection.
They changed all the collections.
If you did buy the digital collection before August 2010, until the change was made. You qualify for the free collection upgrade

@susiwong

Ahh i see what your saying now.

If you got mono/poly then IT will use the C/R system (which was pretty painless for me). Your other products won't be affected as you download and install each instrument separatly. If you updated to a newer build for your other products you would need to also perform the C/R system, but if you don't update those you can continue using the syncrosoft builds.

For reference, whilst I don't have a syncrosoft license for the korg stuff, all mine are C/R, I do have a syncrosoft in use on my machine, so the newer builds play nice.

Cheers,
Mark

Now that you say it ...
Thanks, guess I'll pass on the Mono/Poly then, I already own the others on a Syncrosoft and they're doing fine, no need to mess with them.

I would like to have some opinions.

I really like the Wavestation. I took a spin on another synth again, that I forgot about the past months - the SQ8L, an emulation of the Ensoniq SQ80.

Now both use wavetables and both are sounding pretty decent. Both also suffer from having the same GUI as the original hardware, but somehow I never managed to get into the SQ8L GUI that much. With the Wavestation, I was making some own sounds pretty quick and it just seemed more intuitive to me.

I do think they both are actually quite alike? Does anyone have some deeper knowledge or experience with both? I think the Wavestation has more waveforms and like I said, I never liked the GUI of SQ8L. Would you prefer one over another and why?

I just don't want to buy another toy (again :?), especially not with something like the SQ8L not even installed before I took out my backup with already downloaded and tested freebies that I liked, after I noticed how much I like the sounds of the Wavestation. If I just need to put some more afford in learning to deal with the SQ8L I would rather keep my money.

Post

emotica, you're wrong about Wavestation using the same GUI as their original. Wavestation had a cramped LCD display with much LESS info shown at once. In fact, Wavestation VSTi GUI is amazing in contrast to the original!

That being said, Wavestation and SQ8L are two totally different things. SQ8L has an analog filter (model), Wavestation is 100% digital. Also SQ8L doesn't do wave sequencing.

Glad you liked the demos Breamixer :)

Well as usual naked truth demos. You just hear the real sound of the MS-20 :)

Dont underate the Polysix though. They compliment each other very well. ( Yes two VAs, simple VAs, from the same manufacturer, and yet they sound very different ) !

Also the MonoPoly is an interesting unit.

( Well they're all interesting ........ )
