GUI very sluggish in Windows 7?

Hey all, I've been lucky enough to have access to MSDN and thus have finally installed the RTM x64 build of Windows 7 today.

Please note that I also tested out ArtsAcoustic Reverb in Windows 7 x32 RC1, and have tested both versions (1.5.0.5 and 1.2.2) in Cubase 4.5.2.

This plugin (along with one or two others) has an extremely sluggish interface in this configuration. Moving sliders and knobs has a significant lag and opening the interface itself lags for about 2 seconds.

I realise that Windows 7 is not released to the masses just yet, but I was wondering if others have a similar problem? Are ArtsAcoustic aware of the issue?

Thanks heaps all! :)

We're aware of some incorrect behaviour on win7, but until win7 isn't released we're _NOT_ supporting it. Once it is officially released we will investigate and take action accordingly.

Bump, the problem is still around I'm afraid and Windows 7 is now supported by most major DAWs. Any idea when we can expect a fix?

Thanks heaps!

I've been running AAR via jBridge in Cubase 5 64-bit, Windows 7. No problem here at all. The GUI reacts extremely fast to mouse movement.

I just tested this again using a standard VST install on Cubase 4 under Windows 7 and the GUI is indeed still very sluggish. This same problem occurs with the Virus TI plugin and has been acknowledged by Access.

These 2 plugins are the reason I'm still using XP for music production.

On the other hand, the CL series plugins work perfectly in Windows 7.

Any update on this?

A minor update for the Windows 7 UI issues:

We are still working on a fix and customers have reported different behaviors. Some see issues with Windows 7 and others don't.

As soon as we have some more news about this I will post the details here.

Really appreciate it Alex! I would be more than happy to test any beta versions you have since I can consistently replicate the problem here.

The Virus TI plugin has the exact same issue which is also acknowledged by Access Music:

Known issues:
Graphic Performance under Windows 7 needs fine tuning.

When these two awesome plugins are fixed for windows 7, I'll most likely be migrating to it for music production :)

Hey Alex, sorry to bug you, was just wondering if any progress was made on this fix? :)

Hey guys, any updates on this?

Yes, I too have been having severe GUI lag issues with AAR, my favorite reverb, on W7 Pro 64. It would be really disappointing if there were no updates on this. I would have to transfer my license, as the software is unusable with this much GUI lag.

i know they're aware of it and that this issue is being worked on, though it seems to be a problem that's rather not so easy to fix...

I sincerely hope they do find something to fix this since it's definitely a showstopper.
