However a Zebra or Ace preset has not been posted that sounds like that bass.

Unfortunately, I failed to make a patch for Zebra/ACE, so here is a patch for Absynth 5 sounding similar to that example. Not exact sound, but the concept is the same. Here is a demo wav-file that presents some notes and glide with the dry patch. Maybe some amount of chorus and bitcrush can make sense.

One plain Saw osc.
Two XMFs in parallel (in 2.5 mode) - Overload 50% in both - tweak resonance and cutoff to taste. Tweak balance to taste.
One VCF5 in effects section (LP vintage) - open filter, no resonance - crank the drive.
One EQ - for bass and low mid removal.

Global LFOs 1 & 2 modulating XMF 1 & 2's frequency cutoff... slowly and at different rates.

Bake for 3 days... or until set,
and make sure your bassline includes some really low notes!

I like these sound challenges, however I learn that I don't know much of anything about synthesis on each one

You can use just one XMF in "parallel" mode, then modulate Offset. Simpler and more CPU-friendly
