Hey,

I'm in the process of installing the latest MU.LAB build on my brother's PC (Win7) and we can't get it to sound, would anyone know what might be going on?

MP3 players and the like aren't a problem, it's something in between MU.LAB and the ASIO thing I don't get when trying to configure it from within MU.LAB.

Any help appreciated.

Marco :D

edit: was 'MULAB Free Win 7, no sound despite ofASI 4 all'

1) Does MU.LAB MME sound fine?

2) Could it be that you need to install the ASIO4ALL 32 or 64 bit version?
<Edit>Mmm, no that's probably not it as A4A 2.10 comes in a combined 32/64 bit version.

I know MU.LAB is working fine on W7 (except for a rough app icon).

I'm not sure what could be the problem. Do you get an error message?

Or is it that when you press play you don't see the play cursor moving and hear no sound?

Hm, at the risk of coming off dumb, but what is MME?

No error messages but plenty of "not connected" options in the output settings.

I have to admit his is all a little over my head since I'm a Mac guy. :/

In Audio Setup you have 2 driver types: ASIO or MME.
Please try the MME way.

Can you please post a screenshot.

Nothing wrong with that ;)

I think it may just be that MME thing, will try it.

Ok, the dialog panel you have open there is the one from Asio4All.

Can't you enable the Realtek HD Audio Out?

Anyway, it's certainly good to check out the MME way too.

ASIO is better than MME though (MME is output only and needs a bigger latency most of the time), so hopefully the Asio4All can be properly setup. Maybe others can help too here as i'm not an Asio4All expert.

Ohh, Ok! Thanks. yeah we're getting sound from MU.LAB now but no guitar recording or monitoring (like you said - output only). We'll do more troubleshooting tomorrow.

Sometimes, and I don't know why, I get that red cross on the outputs of Asio4All panel.
The only thing I can do most of the time is to restart the system. Sometimes I find an instance of MuLab or another music software that I did quit, still running in the Task Manager panel and after I terminate them that red cross disappear. Otherwise I need to restart the PC.

Hmmm...we never even thought about shutting everything down. I'm very curious indeed for tomorrow now, keep your fingers crossed and many thanks!! :)

is there maybe an issue with win7 and asio4all?
not with Mulab?
because my standalone Kontakt Player [using asio4all] also sometime don't want to play a sound when I already open Music player like winamp or WMP.
but everything is fine when I open mulab/kontakt from fresh windows start up.
:?
