Confirmed. You are correct. JMC said the following:

NewTone is FL only & will normally remain this way.

Pitcher is currently VSTi only (in order to accept midi notes but the FL version is in the works.

Well, in the shop it says
Both NewTone & Pitcher will require FL Studio 9.7 beta so don't purchase this if you don't want to beta-test them (or wait until FL Studio 10 is released).
