Howard, thanks for this early beta! I've noticed you make no mention of Zebra's demo mode. Given the number of threads started with "my zebra is going out of tune after about 15 mins..." it might be worthwhile to add it somewhere in the install section at the beginning.

(more coming as I read it)

Edit: On page 20 you mention Glide2 as only affecting odd numbered modules. Isn't this only true when in duophonic mode? From my testing it seems the knob is ignored in other modes.

Edit2: On page 20 you give the tip for FX bypass "Tip: I often catch myself forgetting to switch this off again - so if all your patches sound
strangely lifeless today, check the status of Bypass FX!". I think the bold word is mean to be "on".

Sweet! +100 :)

Here is what I found looking at the first 10 pages or so:

P7 > "keyboard velocity, pitch bender, mod-wheel and aftertouch"
> "pitch bend" sounds better to me, might just be a preference.

P8 > "Grab the green square below the waveform editor..."
> May need to stress that these are at the very bottom of the screen, and not the little green squares used for editing the waveform. Maybe it would help to have people click between a few waves, then drag between them while playing notes.

P8 > "... then go back to wave number 5"
> Assuming that a new init patch will be supplied. My init had saws for all the waves.

P8 > "Vibrato knob of the other oscillator up to around 30.00."
> Right after this sentence would be a good place for a link to the basic operations of the knobs on page 11 titled Standard Controls.

P8 > "The default mode is LPXite."
> LP Xcite

P9 > "To switch the effect panels over, click on Rev1 or EQ1 in the grid."
> Would be cool if the example sounded a lot different by switching from pre and post EQ.

P11 > "... user-definable modulation knobs, which are only labeled after you have selected a source via right-click"
> Left click also works on the ... knobs. And they can be re-assigned with a right click. Not sure that is "correct" it's just how I learned it.

If this is helpful, I can provide more items to consider.

Best regards,

Gino

Some things that popped up at first read-through:

p.11 - Interface
Definable Controls: a few examples, e.g. screenshots might be handy.

p.21 - OSC
Introduction sounds a bit like were going for Zebralette, not for the Oscillators.

p.34 - VCF
Cutoff: Hertz, not "Herz"
Resonance: "centerd" (missed the -ed)
the two modulation slots are not mentioned, also what they target (you got it on the XMF)

It must be pitch bender. We need to establish this because a secret project heavily relies on the notion of "pitch bender" as an established noun in the world of synthesis.

Glide2 only affects *even* numbered modules with a hard wired keyfollow, such as Osc2, Osc4, Vcf2, Vcf4, XMF2, Comb2, FMO2, FMO4. It also affect the "Keyfol2" modulator. It does so in all modes. Or, let#s say... it *should*

I think the answer is actually hidden inside the manual, an attention to detail while proofreading should yield the secret... ;)
