I think you mean "adopters" but I get your point and I agree. In this case it could mean adapters as you'd have to adapt your work flow to deal with the bugs. Another way around this is to have an "open beta" phase. This is how we do it in the game world a lot of the time. Helps narrow down some of the weirder bug issues.ATS wrote:This is why I always say when a synth first comes out it should be discounted for early adapters.MaxSynths wrote:Yes, it's easy to say... 1st it's a massive job to work as a beta tester for such a massive synth. So a lot of bugs have been found and solved, I think the beta group have done a great job and Markus have worked really hard to solve the most important problems and every single bug reported in the beta stage. The problems reported are minus problems very common in a first release.
2nd as you already know, I think, what's happening is very common for a 1.0 release. Someone once said (in another thread) that he avoid to buy 1.0 releasesWell the first release of a software always shows such problems, just like said above there are more users using the software in different ways and with different computer setups, so the unspotted bugs come to the surface. And this is why usually a 1.0 version is shortly followed by an update. Very common, no need to be surprised (this happens at any release).
That said, the demo seems to run well on my run 'o the mill Dell. It does pop a web browser up, which is like having a pushy sales person interrupting you and it seems to crash the latest version of Live sometimes when this happens. Bad form.
The synth does sound great I must say, but I really had no doubt it would. Cold and digital but sweet. Great presets, though I'd like to tell all developers to ditch pan flute presets. No one likes them. I'll probably get it for sure but I'm short money until the first of next month. I wonder if I'd qualify for Bifilter. If they just discounted it the cost of Bifilter I'd already own it. Bifilter seems nice but I just don't really need it.
